The vet thought she was part Bengal!

I shouldn't rag on the poor vet... he was really great with Mischief when I took her in for a UTI and I plan to make that practice her regular one when it comes time for shots. So, a great vet, and a nice guy. But....

... she looks about as much like a bengal as a greyhound looks like a german shepherd. To be fair, it's not like I would have known any different a year or two back. Pedigreed cats aren't exactly common, and many people haven't seen one before. And she's a pretty weird looking cat. Just... not a bengal!

Just thought it was entertaining enough to share.

It’s good that your vet is better with health issues than he is about breed identification.

Pretty as a day, a torbie. It would be nice to see a good photo from aside, to see the exact pattern.

Vets arent schooled in breeds. If they are knowleable on which breed is which, it would be either they themselves are active in the world of pedigree cats, or out of private interest...
He probably tried to be nice. Perhaps tried to hint she is lively?

StefanZ here's the side shot. She looks like she is a mackerel tabby, to me. And the vet was right about her being lively! She waltzed right up to him when he came in the room.

One of my boys is similar looking (with different coloring and tabby pattern) and my vet also thought he’s Bengal.
