Fingers crossed that come January 1, I will have a new job and be out of the Hell that I'm currently in. Another positive is that it seems like I won't have to apply or interview for this new job. Had this job not popped up, the plan was to leave with my 30 year pension and find a job closer to home. Now, I won't have to look for another job and I can build up my pension for at least another 10 years and really be set for when I retire for good!!

Thanksgiving weekend is here! What makes it particularly exciting for me is that I actually have the long weekend off. Last year I worked all three evenings, so I missed out. This year I am free, relaxed and eager for a lovely meal 🦃
I hope you have a wonderful long weekend to relax and enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

After 8 long months, I can finally get rid of the Feliway diffusers I had upstairs and downstairs. Hopefully with keeping Gracie downstairs while I am at work, I won't have to rebuy them. They are only good for 6 months anyway so they would have needed to be replaced had I kept them.

I am, as I have posted often, a big thrift shopper. One of the things I love about it is trying out something that I wouldn’t have bought full price. Today I purchase a rubber broom for $3.99. I have seen them in commercials and they are supposed to be able to sweep up pet hair, fine dust and even water. Brought it home, tried it on the carpet and the hardwood floor and I think I have found my new favorite cleaning tool. Even on a part of the floor that looked clean it picked up gobs of cat and human hair and the nice thing is that it sweeps it without anything sticking in the brush like the broom does. And if it get dirty you can just rinse it off. Love it!

We were in PA over the weekend for my niece's wedding. 👰 It was so nice to get the family together to celebrate a special occasion. She made a lovely bride and her dog made a lovely part of the wedding party in her white tutu.

She appears to be thinking the tutu is fine, but bring on that cake! 🍰

She's come a long way since my niece and new hubby adopted her. She spent the first month cowering under their bed but since then she's come out of her shell. She's so well behaved and lovable that DH said he wanted to bring her home in his suitcase.

Seems like the plan will be that I would have to retire once I got my 30 years in and can collect my full pension and then get rehired for this new job at the top salary since my current salary is almost $5000 more than the new job's top salary. I'd be losing money currently and also in retirement and they would view the new job as a demotion. With my pension and pay from the new job, I'd be making over $105,000 a year. I can live with that!! :woohoo:

I thought I was going to have to empty all my flower pots on the patio due to the lack of rain and scorching temps last month but since the weather cooled down thankfully they survived and look better than ever. 🌹🌺🌼

Is the rehire with the same company? If do double check the pension plan documents to make sure it allows it. With some plans you would have to stop your pension if you were hired at the same company.

Finally got my tool shed in order, except now I have a bucket of oddities to sort: nails, screws, bolts, etc. Not sure how I’m gonna store’em. Maybe I’ll just keep a ‘bucket of odd bits’.
I have a plastic chest with all these little bins. Works well when I don’t just toss stuff in 🤣. You can also use small glass or plastic jars.

We met up with 3 other homeschooling families from our church today and checked out some trails and a nature center not far from my house. The weather was cool but with my long sleeve T and a food hoodie I was comfortable in the shade or sunshine.

DDs friend wasn’t feeling well so she was the oldest there with no other teens; but we were able to send her friend some cake that DD had made for their group (which was also canceled because the leader’s kids were sick yesterday). There were 4 boys about the same age so they were all in their glory in the woods. Another mom brought 2 of her older relatives and they kept right up with everyone so I think they enjoyed the outing too.

I finished my kids' Halloween costumes! I wish I'd been able to get the color of M's a bit closer to the source material (I should have chosen a pinker fabric), but she was still happy and saying "mermaid!"
