Our oldest daughter came out for the weekend. We both love going to the Botanic Garden and decided to take a chance on the weather today. It was cloudy and windy with a chance of showers but we enjoyed ourselves because it was not crowded. Here are a few pics:

Love it! Glad you and your daughter had a good time. The main botanical gardens I have been to was the botanical gardens in the Bronx, NYC. Always beautiful and oddly quiet, never even heard noise from the street unless you were in the parking lot.

The gardens here are situated on 385 acres. When our youngest daughter was living in NY we visited the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. I'll have to ask her if she ever went to the one in the Bronx.

Went to see Korn this past week and it was a great show!

We finally found someone to replace part of our fence that was damaged in the bad storm a few weeks ago. They contacted the company that marks underground utilities and they've already come out so hopefully the fence will be repaired soon.

The fence was repaired today! Plus the guys secured a few loose boards on the other side of the yard and fixed the gate which has been bugging me forever.

Well since my laptop got bleh on me. I decided to do some traditional art and will do some embroidery art of my characters I created. My mom gave me a hobby lobby gift card for bday. I went nuts

My daughter and I really put a foot in it with dinner last night. I'm still thinking about it.

I made this Sheet Pan Caprese Chicken. I did season both sides of the chicken but I didn't have fresh basil so before cooking I used a basil from a refrigerated tube and spread a little on each chicken breast. It was AMAZING!!

DD made this Olive Oil Pasta recipe and WOW. So good together!! The fresh parsley was amazing! I couldn't find the red pepper flakes but we didn't miss it and might like it better too.

At the time I wasn't even paying attention to the fact that the recipes came from the same person because DD had found the recipe in a physical cookbook and asked to make it over the weekend. And I'd planned to make this chicken at some point this week It was really nice to have such a satisfying dinner but also to share the responsibility of cooking.

Ordered this fan last night from amazon to replace the honeywell one its pretty good. i like it pretty lucky we live close to an amazon warehouse so alot of stuff we get next dayif the driver can figure out my apartment is the last one in the hall way. Graycie likes the new fan also

Omen Ink, my polydactyl kitty, came home yesterday! He's terrified of the dog, but with time they'll get used to each other.

I am really hoping Boone and Gracie have gotten off the diarrhea train and are back to normal. No issues since Wednesday afternoon but Boone was good for two days before and then started back up so I'm not sure if it's over. I am thankful that neither acted sick and continued to eat and drink like normal. Won't be cancelling their vet appointment until I see how today goes. If still nothing by Saturday afternoon, I will cancel it.

I was unknowingly nominated for an award at work and I apparently won. I'm honestly shocked that I was nominated in the first place, but it does make me feel good about actually doing a good job in my work. I've been wanting to have my job reclassified to a higher job class so I can make more money, but I was convinced I wasn't doing enough to deserve a promotion, but maybe I actually am.

A Friend of mine has connections who work at a local pet store. She said she was told there's going to be a HUGE clearance sale on large cat trees. So I signed up for the pet store's sale announcements. I have 2 cat trees already, but I need a HUGE one and if a $200 tree is going on sale, you bet your buttons I'm gonna make sure I get one, LOL!

And there's always room for another tree, right? .

On my way home from the farmer's market this morning I stopped and bought Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters. I purposely bought candy neither DH or I would like because I don't want to be tempted. I really enjoy seeing the little ones dress up in costumes and go door to door. I guess I'm still a kid at heart.

Our church service project for today is making birthday boxes for the food pantry. A disposable cake tin, box mix, frosting, a can of sprite, a recipe for the two ingredient cake, candles, and a card we colored. I never would have thought of this on my own, but it's such a great idea!

The last hurrah of summer - a single bloom this week on my clematis - well past its season.

I have let my gardens sit instead of pulling anything. The bees and pollinators were still busy even though its not all green and pretty! The squirrels have been making use of the sunflower stalks; climbing up and carrying things away. DH said they were pretty much in our kitchen window yesterday morning entertaining him.
