I don’t know if you have even gotten one before but every once in a while I get notified that there is a class action lawsuit settlement of some sort that I have been identified as a potential recipient of. I always verify the source and complete the paperwork to participate in the settlement distribution and eventually get small payments like five or ten dollars from it . This last winter I was notified of a pending settlement of a lawsuit against my local newspaper, something relating to not canceling subscriptions. I filled out my paperwork with no expectation, and today I was shocked to see I got a $126 dollar payment from it to my PayPal account!

My kid's saw a new allergist this week and we all loved her! (It's really hard to find any local ones accepting pediatric patients so their 3 month follow up took 6 to get on the schedule...) She suggested seeing if our insurance would cover the kid's meds to save some money and IT DID. Even the OTC stuff was covered and a fraction of the cost. I left the pharmacy today with a big bag and 8 items (one was mine). When i calculated it out compared to what we were paying I was shocked! And so grateful!

She was also great talking to each of my kids directly and explaining things. DD can be more shy but she commented as soon as we got in the car how much she liked her. DS tends to take my suggestions for his eczema and congestion as what NOT to do so hopefully he will listen to her. I mean a young, pretty doctor is much more worth listening to than you mother right? ;) I didn't know they were going to be seeing a new doctor and there was nothing wrong with the first we saw; but I'm glad they saw someone we all liked so much.

The New Cat tree arrived yesterday and was mostly easy to put together. Puddles loves it, too! It wasn't even finished being put together and she was on it, inspecting. Now she passes out in the top bunk/bed beside the dog, yet out of the reach of Winter. Very amusing! She's also taken to joining me on the computer desk. I'm gonna have to clean it off (Bird toy parts EVERYWHERE) and place a box to keep Puddles from continually lying in my workspace. You folks know how it is with cats and keyboards, LOL!

We finally found someone to replace part of our fence that was damaged in the bad storm a few weeks ago. They contacted the company that marks underground utilities and they've already come out so hopefully the fence will be repaired soon. :crossfingers:

I had to have my water heater replaced. Scheduled the plumber for this morning and his arrival estimate was 8:30-10:30. I figured it would be a whole or nearly whole day of waiting and then sitting around while he worked. He arrived at 8:15, was packed up and gone by 10:30, didn’t find anything needing extra work/money. One thing I appreciated as well was that he cashed my check within hours. I hate checks not being cashed for weeks. An all around good day.

I had to stop one of my medications because I think I was having an allergic reaction to it (although not the worst reaction I've ever had to something). It's been a bit over a week and I am MUCH less itchy! I don't know for certain it was the medication and I have almost a month before I see my doctor and I'm not sure how I'm doing without it. But being less itchy really is a relief!

It's been a busy but positive week. Yesterday I saw the opera, Rigoletto, by Verdi. 🎼 The opera house was filled to capacity and there was a standing ovation. Today I took out a friend who I taught with for her birthday at a small but quaint independent restaurant. She really appreciated it and I always enjoy spending time with her. Good friendships are priceless. :heartshape:

There is an old Lucille Ball movie, The Long Long Trailer that I have wanted to rewatch for the last couple years.Every time I have searched for it it has been in a pay site that I don’t have access to. Today I looked again and found it for free in Tubi. I really haven’t used this free streaming app and was really surprised by the selection of great movies. I think there is some TV on there too.

It’s fun to rewatch stuff. That’s a great one. Ms. Ball has some really good sassy early movies to hunt for as well. I’m rewatching Homicide: Life on the Street. Now I want name a group of cats for every detective! (Pembleton, Bayliss, Munch, etc.)

I just read the scoring for DD's 2nd submission for her writing curriculum this year and she got 100%! :banana1:I pay to have her work graded by a scoring service because I am not confident I know what someone her age should write like. Last year it was worth every penny!! She has a new person scoring her work this year so that's like having a new teacher and you don't know if they will have the same perspective. So far this person has given her good grades and praised her; but also given her nice constructive input to help her keep growing as a writer. She told me last year that this scoring makes her want to do her best too. That's all a win for me!!

We also enjoyed watching her do her science experiments today. She used steam to blow up a balloon that was stretched over a flask with a little water on a hot plate. Then tested air pressure on a mini marshmallow inside a big needleless syringe. And then she used the hot plate, a soda can, duct tape and a little water to boil the water in the can and then plunge it into a bowl of ice water. I knew it was going to collapse but I still jumped.

I was taking video and pictures to share on Facebook; but then I realized she had her hair stuffed into a sock and yeah she doesn't want that out there. :flail:

Our oldest daughter came out for the weekend. We both love going to the Botanic Garden and decided to take a chance on the weather today. It was cloudy and windy with a chance of showers but we enjoyed ourselves because it was not crowded.🌹 Here are a few pics:

And to my delight a Cacao tree in the greenhouse.
