Haha, guilty as charged! My parents stopped growing them because when I was a kid I'd just stand by their pea plants and graze, and then get in trouble. I think they only planted them this year after my adult self solemnly promised not to do that! But I confess that yesterday I tried a pod from the ones I planted - just to see what they were like, you understand...;)
See my Grandpa planted them intentionally for that. It was like sneaky getting kids to eat veggies. I guess I could try for a fall crop here. I bought a stir fry mix with sugar snap peas for my lunch this week after this thread yesterday. :yummy: I plant regular peas in the garden though.

That's a smart Grandma! My parents were always trying to get me to eat my vegetables, they should just have stood me by their pea plants LOL! But I think they wanted some peas for themselves as well...

When my peas are ready to harvest, Mum and I are going to save the pods when we shell them and try boiling them up and make natural dye for our wool knitting yarn.

Yesterday morning I see in my Informed Delivery that I have a letter coming from my insurance company. It is about sixty days til I renew so getting a letter beforehand is almost always bad news. I start to stress. Are they canceling my policy? Requiring documentation of upgrades? Just imagining the worst. Letter finally arrives in the afternoon and it tells me in the first sentence that at renewal my coverage is decreasing! Blood pressure goes even higher. Then I read the rest of the letter that says at renewal they are no longer going to cover watercraft or injuries caused by it. No boat and no plans to get one. A big stress fest for nothing.

My doctor was running late by almost 2 hours today so I treated myself to lunch afterwards. Considering I skipped breakfast I feel extra justified with the treat! I picked up a BBQ Chicken Wrap and fries from a local bagel place so I also got a few bagels to put in the freezer for rainy days and an iced coffee since I had also not had coffee yet either! ☕

He’s a good doctor so I don’t always mind the delay. He had a med student with him so maybe that’s part of why this time. But mostly I know he listens to people so I am just grateful to have a doctor with good bedside manners like that.

susanm9006 susanm9006 I’ve been hearing stories from people about being dropped and forced to replace roofs over 10 years old; so I don’t blame you for being nervous! I’m glad it wasn’t an issue after all!

I met a teacher I used to work with for coffee today. We've stayed in touch even after retirement. She's a cat lover too and knew about Carleton passing away so she brought this gift for me. They're wind chimes that say, Pawprints Left By You. 💟

Wow MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles , that was a long wait!
It was and I think I’ve waited longer. But he’s consistently voted one of the best doctors in the state for a reason. I brought my kindle and used the bathroom in the lobby after 45 minutes in there.

He was also super kind when I declined having a med resident present. (Both were.) I’d rather wait and keep compassionate care. :agree: The neurologist I worked for wouldn’t have been so nice.

As long as you don't mind that's all that matters.....There's not a soul on the planet I'd wait for but where I live we are very spoiled and there are just far too many excellent & wonderful physicals ,specialist etc on every corner to wait for more than 15minutes- its what you ger in what was pretty much a retirement area I think

Within 5 miles there's like 5 hospitals as well.....the health care we have here is what kept me from leaving when I had the opportunity

fnally bought a nook glowlight 4 at barnes and nobles :lol:bonus + was the petsmart next door had the good paper bags to
I just looked that up. My current Kindle is 8 years old and no longer updates or displays the store; but it still syncs and I can almost get a week out of the battery. I’ve gone through several covers. I was thinking I will see what I get in birthday money and upgrade it but it better still fit in my purse! I tested all the purses for Kindle fit this time because I really dislike spending a lot on purses.

I can’t see myself switching to a nook with all the kindle content I own. But they are still fun to look at. DD might want one for Christmas or her next birthday. But I’m betting she asks for a new phone first since she has my old one.

This weekend is the U.S. Navy/Army Blue Angels Air & Water Show. We went into the city today to watch them practice. The noise was a little overwhelming but the synchronization of the planes was amazing. 🛩 The weather was picture perfect and this weekend's forecast is the same so it will be packed with spectators. I'm glad we went down to watch today instead of over the weekend with the crowds.😉
