I haven't posted in this thread all week so lots of positives - my sister sent me p.b. chocolate meltaways for Valentine's Day, I got an unexpected phone call from an old friend and made a new friend in one of my exercise classes, Carleton has had a burst of energy since his I-131 treatment and, last but not least, we are starting to make plans to visit one of our daughters who is attending university in the UK - Covid has made us postpone any previous plans so fingers crossed the trip will be successful. :crossfingers:

Well, I did get a new laptop!! It was purchased this morning! And the Apple Specialist did not advise me to spend Megabucks for what I thought I wanted/needed.. I saved a thousand dollars by listening to him!!! I love Apple!! I have had an ongoing relationship with them for over almost 20 years ... My iPod, my first iPhone, the replacement when the battery swelled (free), 2 MacBook Pros, and now the MacAir.

It is a joy to be able to just take home a laptop, put in 3 passwords~~ and the computer is up and running, without any hassle... So easy.... Everything is just, there...

yes, a bit expensive when you compare it to a tablet, plain Windows laptop---but... no comparison with service, ease of use, ease of installing... and I have AppleCare for 3 years...bought the plan..

I have on line classes, can call for help 24/7---speak understandable English.. Clear instructions, and I can also take it to the store for any issues.... So happy with it...

It has been a long week with things breaking...too many

Such a nice positive for today...

Oh,, My laptop is a very pretty color: Rose Gold!! LOVE it..

You and me both! We used them in school for many years and the students loved them. My grown kids have Mac laptops, DH has a Mac desktop and I have a MacAir. It's definitely a nice positive for you.🤗
I know!! It is such a joy to have a working computer---one which can keep up with my typing.. not that I type fast..

The only thing is: I thought I had the most current model.. turns out that I have a 2020 unit. The guy told me the only real differences are the number and types of ports... still retinal display, the M! processor, etc......

If it saved me a thousand dollars, I am happy to (whenever I do need an additional port or thunderbolt port) do without it..... There are always ways around things...

Yes, Macs are just so easy... Now on to learn all the ins and outs of it...
Busy week for me with appointments and meetings, but... It is something new for me....need to keep the brain active...

Ballet classes are back in-person so now in the process of finally rehearsing for the recital! After two years I'm definitely pumped. It has been an emotional rollercoaster for us dance teachers

Got an A and 100% grade on my last assessment and research assignment. Eeeeee! I confess I started with some Imposter Syndrome when first beginning my Master's journey (Especially when there are a few of high achieving fellow students...two Oxbridge alumni, a neuroscientist and a couple others who already have a PhD!) so to actually being doing quite well sincerely has helped. I can do this!

Also got a new laptop!

(and getting my Vaccination booster today, woot woot  )

When I took Sassy to the vet last month, she was diagnosed with hyperthyroid - this wasn't a surprise as she is ~13 and we have been monitoring it for a while. My doctor prescribed 1/2 dose of felimazole every night, but it made Sassy incredibly itchy. After determining it wasn't going to go away, I called the vet and we switched to transdermal. I tried the transdermal for four days and each time was an unbelievable struggle - previously she's been very good about taking transdermal medication, but this time it was like having a feral cat in the house for about five minutes each time. I've never seen her so angry! Finally I had the idea of splitting the doses, a quarter dose in the morning and another at night. Itching is almost completely gone. She's happy as can be, obviously feels quite a bit better, and she'll be able to enjoy her gotcha day next week with a healthy thyroid.

Other than that, I've lost about 15lbs and my deadlift is up 30lbs, my band is going on tour this summer, and this weekend I am going on vacation with some friends for the first time in four years. And also with a girl I think is cute. Life's pretty good!

I can definitely relate since Carleton was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last year. I had more difficulty pilling him so the transdermal gel worked like a charm. In case your vet didn't mention it you have to clean the ears daily or every other day because if the residue builds up the new dose will not get absorbed properly. Best of luck with Sassy's treatment and I hope you enjoy your weekend trip with friends including a cute girlfriend. :cool2:

My positive is snagging another case of canned cat food for Carleton. I used to wait until I was running low but with the recent shortages I try to stay ahead whenever I see his new favorite wet food. :lovecat2:

All of the paperwork we need for taxes has finally come in. I'm sure we will owe, but it will be nice to get it our of the way.

I think I have everything. Apparently I don't get a mailed paper copy of the W2 for my current job. I get a PDF copy from the employee portal. I guess I just print that out and attach them to the tax form? I haven't gotten my mortgage interest form from the bank yet either but I can get that through my online account so not a big deal.

I got a small raise and bonus at work  Not much since I've only been at the job for the last 3 months and missed out on performance reviews but it's way better than the lousy "raise" and zero bonus at the last job (academia sucks :eviltongue:).

Yes. My husband switched jobs last year and the old job sent one and the new job did not and he just printed it out.

I got a mammogram callback and had to go yesterday. Thankfully I got the all clear.

Yeah, the pills are small so pilling her is much easier than getting her to hold still! It's been weird. She's happy now though!

And yes, fingers crossed!

This past week I got emails that some of my 1099s from different investment platforms had come through. Legally they have to be sent to me by 1/31. I already filed my taxes and got my refunds. Better luck next time, I guess.

Positive 1. The small battery operated snowblower that I ordered in late January finally arrived today.
Positive 2. It was fairly easy to assemble
Positive 3. It was light enough so that I could lift and carry it up/down stairs

Charging the batteries tonight and will try it out tomorrow. It will not replace my big snowblower but I am hoping it has enough power to handle our frequent 2-3 inch snowfalls.

Took the new battery snowblower out this morning and cleaned my patio and driveway edges with it. Snow wasn’t more than an inch but hard packed and it did fine without hardly any rundown of the battery. I think it will be perfect. Some snow coming in a few days so it will have a real trial.

I haven't been feeling very positive lately, but I guess I'll give this thread another try. My positive is I got 14 different milks from Vitacost. Those should be fun to try with my cappuccino. All kinds of different ones like macadamia, hemp, rice, coconut, almond, hazelnut, pea.

I'm glad you posted since there are days I don't think I have anything particularly positive to say either but I always try to find something that made me happy or brightened my day. My positive for today is that you gave this thread another try and posted about your 14 different milks. 👍 Hope to see more posts from you soon. :hugs:
