Chains to hang the bird feeder under the deck came today, so bird feeder is officially set up. Cannot wait for the birds (or squirrels!) to find the feeder! Cats will be so excited.
what do you mean by cats will be excited?

I had rocky road ice cream yesterday and ate it from a mug; one of
my bone china tea mugs that holds 12 ounces rather than 8. It was
fun eating it like that!

We never did get the storms predicted..there was even a severe weather
alert last night but we got nothing and we do need rain.

I cut more hair from Cal and noticed that the day before I had cut so much
off in a certain place that I could see her skin. I must be more careful.

Hot again today but I have ice cream and frozen fruit bars, yum!.

I posted in Coffee & Tea Talk that we went to a local coffee roaster yesterday. It's about 30 minutes from our house and each time we go I pick up two bags of their freshly roasted beans. Of course we had to enjoy a tasty drink. DH got an iced chai and I got a cortado which is one of my favorites there. It was a nice ride for a Sunday afternoon and since they are an independent small business I like to help support them. ☕

neely neely That sounds great! Two houses ago, we lived kind of near a coffee roaster business that was also a little coffee house. It sold little fancy sweets and sandwiches as well. And there were all kinds of cat figurines and CDs for sale, too! I bought quite a few gifts for my mom, which are now mine, and a few CDs from them. We also got our whole-bean coffee favorite, Indian Monsooned Malabar, there. It was a luxurious indulgence for us to be able to grind our own coffee and enjoy it at home.
Going to be hot today, but it's a nice cool morning and I enjoyed watering the patio and verandah plants. I also have wash going as usual, and I finally accomplished a long-needed task -- cleaning out part of my part of the refrigerator! It wasn't too bad, and it gives us more room now, which I know my roomie will appreciate.
Tarifa snorked her red meat feast and part of Elvis' as well. She is such a little vacuum cleaner on food!
Furballsmom Furballsmom Thanks for the pix! The laughing mule looks very sweet and I love the farm machinery, which reminds me of one of my favorite films, "Brokeback Mountain" -- Anne Hathaway's character's family sold farm equipment.

My kids had good dental checkups today. It was definitely odd going into their dentist since reopening; but a positive experience too. They see a Pediatric Dentist so normally there are toys and books in the waiting room. It used to have an awesome mural in it; but the dentist's son joined the practice so they expanded the exam rooms into what was the waiting room a bit.

The dentist himself did the kid's cleanings so that felt kind of special. It seemed like one person was there doing almost strictly cleaning and setup too. All the modifications they've made to the office feel very natural and unobtrusive. You might not notice the increased plexiglass and things if you were a new patient. The've covered even the waiting room chairs in clear vinyl and reduced the amount. Every exam chair had a large air filter of some kind over the work station (there was one in the waiting room too). And they clearly have a routine down to keep contact with surfaces to a minimum. Even the button for the x-ray was covered in plastic that she changed between my kids. They are doing a great job trying to keep everyone safe. I did have to sign an acknowledgement and we all had our temperatures taken. My kids were only a little disappointed there were no prizes. But overall they really are doing a great job with the circumstances and having young patients. My kids are getting older to where I can explain things and they understand; but when DD was little she would get scared. They are doing a good job being safe; but also not scaring their young patients. I'm sure I'm not the only parent who appreciates how difficult that balance can be to find! :hearthrob:

Sounds like a good experience and a safe one for all! I was wondering how that plays out, as I am scheduled for a bi-annual cleaning next month.
I had a great dentist when I was small -- he was also my dad's dentist, and he was very gentle and thorough. SO glad my dad made sure that I got regular dental care that did not scare me. As a result, dental cleanings are #1 priority for me.

I went to the dentist twice last week. Once for an urgent appointment... tooth fell off of the implant.. and the second time for a cleaning.

It was absolutely fine. I had to call them when I arrived, wait in my car; they called me when to enter the office. Had to have my temp taken, sign an authorization that I am free from association with Covid patients, no cold, no travel, etc... The hygienist was waiting for me. She had a visor, 2 masks---one a N35 with a regular disposable mask over it, gloves, clown, booties.

Took my mask off just before we began.

Everything was covered in plastic, with a strong air cleaning in each room; Even waiting room, which you cannot wait in.

I had to rinse a couple of times before they started with peroxide and water mixture. I could not use the sink. They suctioned the stuff out of my mouth. The same thing was done after she was polishing my teeth...

Plexiglass enclosing the desk area, with holes cut out for hands, paperwork...
Hand sanitizer everywhere.

When signing the credit card payment; they used a new pen and told me to keep it.

I felt safe.. very safe.

That’s how the dentist DH and I see is handling everything from what DH said. I was supposed to go the week after everything closed down. I go in a couple weeks.

The kids dentist had a container for used pens too.

Having a good dentist is so helpful. I probably never would have left my last one if he hadn’t retired. But this new place has been good. They have updated technology. And one of the dentists is the son of my kids first pediatrician. He was voted one of the best in the area. He’s not my normal dentist though. I like every one I’ve seen there.

Mooch found her way to the back of the new couches. Since she can’t jump up it wasn’t smooth but she’s as pleased as punch up there. 😆 She was following light reflections on the ceiling too. That used to be her favorite game and would rile her But this what she does when I try to take a picture. 😂

She might be distracted by the workmen installing a fan in our attic.

How is the handsome and very debonair Mr. G.?:redcat::redheartpump:
Took Mr G, to see the Specialist last week; only because he was going on vacation. G was still vomiting frequently.

Dr B is not concerned about Geoffrey. He said the X-ray report is exactly what it should be, for a cat with vomiting.

He said not to worry. To switch G to a hair ball food, and to increase the laxatone from once a day to three times a day and increase the amount give, from 3/4 inch to an inch. And to continue to brush him daily.. This is a feat, I have yet to adequately perform. Geoffrey really hates to be brushed.. I am doing it every other day.. I sue the grooming glove, followed by the slicker brush--to capture the loose fur.

Dr B also commented that Geoffrey is a very good cat.. a very sweet, nice cat. He could not get over how good he was. And so gentle. .. I said that was because he was terrified..

Fingers crossed, no vomiting since Last Wednesday! fingers crossed. He is pooping twice a day! Drinking a ton of water because the hairball food is dry. He is refusing his normal wet food.

Geoffrey has been hiding from me.. He is very cautious around me, running away..

Yesterday, It seems Geoffrey has kind of turned the corner. I discovered what flavored laxatone he tolerates and dislikes. He is getting a bit used to me giving it to him.. and the brushing was easier...

The positive thing is that, Geoffrey was like his old self, yesterday~~~ Playing... cuddling, looking as if he was feeling really good... Still hiding under my bed.. but so much better...

Of course, I have been hibernating in the apartment because of the heat.. with the blinds shut.. so I cuddle with him a ton.. he is such a love seeking cat.. It is kind of my meditation time.. just lying on my bed, on my side, with Geoffrey curled up against my tummy.. so sweet.. his purring is so loud, feels good on my tummy..

I think he is part Siamese.. I pulled up a couple of You Tube videos of Siamese Voices.. sure enough, Geoffrey has the same voice.. the high pitched soft voice.. and always talking.. While playing these, Geoffrey came out of my room, jumped on my laptop, calling and looking for the 'cat'.... so remarkable...

Was kind of planning on going out for lunch today.. but I think I will cancel.. One: I cannot afford it--too much on line shopping due to Covid; two- I do not know what to order because of this diet I am on. I do not want a full meal for lunch; three, even though it is outside dining, I still do not feel all that safe... four: it is still hot outside, 82 degrees at 9:45 am with high of 88 degrees.. too hot for me to be comfortable outside, even under an umbrella...

I am getting into a rut. It would be good to go out, but..... even $20-25 is a bit too much right now... Perhaps next month.. I am playing it as it is... I am still afraid of Covid. I am not even going to church..

anyway.. Mr G, fingers crossed seems better!!!
