It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday. I was able to have the windows open and it was lovely.
Cal was mad at me when I got back from appt. with shrink. She didn't know I'd been talking about
her and the Vincie girl.💝
💞 She ignored me for a few hours, then came and cuddled. Doc thinks
it's normal for me to cry every morning about missing my girl as long as I can go about my day, which
I do on most days.

Hope you are all having some sunny weather as well!!

:sunshine:  :wave3:

My positives for today is my personal finance teacher posted our next 8 journal entries and next few assignments online, so hoping to knock most out in the next day or two. I enjoy school work. :)

I get a kick out of the Canada geese on our tiny lake.
Wow, your house is gorgeous. 😍

I also received a surprise in the mail from a friend in memory of Noodles
That's so lovely and thoughtful of her. :hugs:

Yeah, that's all we can do, just keep going & bring them along with us in our hearts. 💖

I enjoy school work.
You have such a good attitude!

My positive for today is I finally bought Arnold's Jewish Rye Bread that somebody on here recommended to me, I forget who. I love trying new breads, especially rye! I haven't tried it yet, I'm having it for lunch. 🥪

About a month ago a friend of mine was taking care of a young cat she found in her yard. I gave her lots of advice thanks to the TCS forum on Caring for Strays & Ferals. Long story short, a family who had lost their cat helped to trap him and take him to their vet. The vet said he was 8-10 months old. I'm overjoyed that this family brought him into their home and sent my friend this pic of a very happy and content new furry friend. :hearthrob: This is truly positive!

Vincie was all black and part Main Coon, she is the cat in my banner. She was 19 when she went to the Bridge and had cancer/
ie Maine Coon? How old was she? why did she die
Alex and Nicky,

The Vincie girl had some Maine Coon in her. Her mother was a feral who lived in my neighborhood. She, Butch, and Celeste, all came with my apartment, ha!!. I adopted Celeste but Butch and Speedy, the Vincie girl's mom and dad, were feral. I knew Speedy had had her babies but they didn't thrive. Nicole took Speedy to the doc but she had a terminal liver disease and didn't make it. She passed away peacefully in my kitchen on a big, soft pillow as she looked outside. My Vince girl was the only kitten who survived. Speedy brought them all to my deck as though she knew how ill she was and knew I would care for them.

Vincie girl loved being outside, especially during severe thunderstorms. I wanted to keep her in but she cried, terrified, if I made her stay in so I would let her out. She always came back. She also loved hanging out at the nursing home down the street. She had 5 gorgeous babies when she was only 8 months old. My fault, I was still trying to deal with the aftermath of the shoulder biceps tendon surgery and hadn't got around to having her spayed. All her babies got good homes and I kept the runt, the only boy, Jordan. She nursed him for 6 months!! He got to be around 13 pounds but not fat. He passed away at age 8 from liver cancer.

I had 6 cats total. also Nigel, another feral who hung out on the deck with my babies but would leave when I came out. I finally won him over with sardines. He and the Vincie girl would go on adventures in the woods across the street where there was a creek.

She still looked young when she passed away at age 19. She lost her hearing at around age 14. Although she was the smallest, she was the Alpha and adored by the others. She had a period of having IBS and some UTIs. She finally passed from cancer. Even up
to less than a week before she went to the bridge, she still went on adventures. She had an amazingly, happy life and I miss her so very much. :rbheart: 💖💝

Thank you, although that’s not mine! Or rather, those are not mine. :) They’re across the lake. The lake is surrounded by patio homes (also called cluster homes). Here’s mine. The windows on the far left belong to the attached home next door. We just moved in in October so I’m really looking forward to sitting on the covered patio in the summer.

Carleton went for his annual exam and rabies vaccine today. The good and bad news - first the good, he escaped blood work but that's because of the bad, he needs 3-4 tooth extractions. In all honesty we were not surprised since his teeth were in such bad shape due to FORL when we adopted him. He already had several teeth pulled last year and the vet told us there were several others to monitor. The positive in this, and yes there is a positive, is that we absolutely love and trust our vet. She is a feline only specialist and her spouse is a feline dental specialist. We spent a lot of time talking with her today about feline research, etc. She's one in a million! :goldstar: Here's a pic of Carleton on the exam table, as expected he was not thrilled to go to the vet on such a cold and windy day.

Mia6, thanks for the wonderful story :) one day she will definitely come back to you :) we wonder how you met Cal? :)
I live in a duplex townhouse. Cal lived next door. The couple who lived there were constantly fighting, being violent. I can't count the number of times the police were there. Cal met the Vincie girl on the first day the neighbors brought her home. She could fit in my hand, The Vincie girl licked her all over. At age 3, I guess Cal had had enough of the noise and nonsense at home and moved in on her own. A that point in time she was nocturnal and would come in around 6am and sleep in a laundry basket till about 6pm. This began in July and the neighbors were mad and I couldn't blame them as it was now November. During Thanksgiving weekend, they would not let her out. She was so upset she peed on their sliding glass door. They came over on Monday morning and said they loved Cal but they knew she was happier with me and I could have her. The rest is history. She will be ten on the 14th of July, darling girl. She still is afraid of loud noises. 💝
