Yes, he certainly has adapted to our home. The breed tends to look grumpy but considering his former background before the rescue got involved he was basically abandoned. One of the foster mom's requirements for adoption was a quiet home. Having adopted cats for so many years it still amazes me how much a cat changes when they are fed good food, groomed, have a warm bed and people who love them. :lovecat2:
YES! They're mammals like us, and the same things that make us happy and contented, work for them!

This weekend is 3 months since we adopted Seymour. :heartshape: He is just a love bug! :redheartpump: He still gets a little skittish at times and loud noises from outside frighten him but he's strictly indoors and our house is quiet. I don't think anyone ever played with him or showed him toys since he acted like he didn't know what they were. Considering his past I'm amazed how well he has adjusted. He manages to do something that makes us laugh every day. His mannerisms are just so cute. :cutecat: And he loves to bask in the sun just like Carleton and the cats before him.

I never thought I could have another cat after Carleton but I've been in such a funk ever since he passed away. We've always had cats ever since we were first married and the thought of not having another four-legged friend in the house seemed depressing. I had been checking a particular site that does not have a physical building since all their cats are in foster homes. Sure enough an Exotic Shorthair came up and after having 3 Persians I jumped on applying for him. We brought this little guy home yesterday. He had a sad story which made me love him even more. I'm a sucker for any animal that had a rough start in life.

He was dumped in a dirty, dark basement by his previous owner when they moved out of their apartment. They placed an ad on one of the social media sites for a free cat. When someone showed up to see him he had a nasty neck infection encircling his entire neck. He was very uncomfortable and was soon placed in foster care where he was taken to the vet immediately. The vet felt he had an injury from a collar that was too tight and imbedded into his skin. He received treatment and felt better shortly after. Now he's home with us and hopefully will live a long and happy life. He's so unbelievably affectionate which just goes to show how animals can forgive and trust again. :catlove:

We named our new guy, Seymour, after the movie, Little Shop of Horrors, since he's such a ravenous eater - Feed me, Seymour, Feed me!
