What absolutely gorgeous flowers! It makes me anxious for springtime and hyacinths and tulips. I love colors and have Irises that come up once in a while, no apparent time of year that I can make out...I'm blonde, what do I know??? No gardener, that is for darn sure.

We have a long wait for our flowers to come here, but I know winter won't be too much longer when the crocus start to bloom thru the snow. I transplanted lots of spring bulbs from our previous house and put them around the trees by the road to share with neighbors driving by. They look so pretty peeking over the snow.

I am so jealous of your weather right now! I’ve dreamed about living in California, but I like my current location, to stay close to family. One pawsitive about living in a cooler climate is that snow is so pretty! I love walking through the woods to see trees dusted in glittery snow.
@abyeb , I guess you're unaware that we in Metro L.A. area are now surrounded by wildfires and that the high winds that enabled them to burn many acres, homes, buildings, and at least 1 human and 29 equine fatalities are for the most part 0% contained. The winds are due to reach unheard-of speeds for here starting tonight and go through Friday. So while we may not be having snow (which I love and miss so much, by the way), we are having a living hell. Please pray for us all.
Here is a pic from happier days, in the high desert Mojave, where we used to live.

I'm glad it does NOT snow here although I grew up with it. Now I consider snow to belong on picture postcards. If I really think that I need to see snow in person a drive on the Freeway for 2 hours will take me to Wrightwood where it snows every winter and the ski slopes are groomed. If not enough for that they MAKE snow with some big machine and water for the slopes. It's not wasted water because when this man-made snow melts it will sink into the ground and replenish the aquifer a bit.
I prefer to stay home with my warm fluffballs, a cup of chocolate or a hot toddy, a good book or a film. That's what I consider heaven in the frigid temps of SoCal, lol!:petcat::chessirecat::catlove::purr:

If I get the urge to see snow I can always visit my folks. BELLA'S MOM and I went and stayed up there MAY 2014, they reside in Mariposa CALIF,which is outside YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. I love visiting tbe park and as a kid my folks would take us out of school in November and have lots of memories of family, friends and wildlife. A great experience that we began when I was in 1st grade till 6th grade. And then tbey bought their property in Mariposa, a cute town that has wooden sidewalks...

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I was wondering earlier how you made out in the winds with your tree. I heard about the fires on the radio today, don't typically watch the news. Thoughts and prayers to you and your community.

The kittens let me burrito wrap them in a towel, and were very good while I trimmed their claws.
I’ve been playing with their paw pads for a while and handling their feet, so I was ready to try clipping today. I figured they’d let me trim a claw or two and be wiggly/mad. Nope. They let me do all four front claws. Then their dew claws, too. Percy even let me trim most of his back claws.
Not a scratch on me. I’m very proud of them for being so good and cooperative!

We found a lost dog today at work, a funny little chihuahua named Button, and reunited him with his owner. He was very scared, and difficult to catch as he was running around the parking lot. We called the number on his collar, but got no answer. So we hung out with button, and checked him over for injuries. He had one big eye and one small one, and was kinda shaking, so we thought maybe something was wrong. We wrapped him in my jacket, put him in the back, and consulted the internet. Googling, (along with no visible signs of external trauma) told us that button probably had a congenital defect in his eye, and he wasn't in immediate danger. Honestly, his eyes made him kind of cute, even though I usually don't think toy breed dogs are. After that, the owner just happened to come in looking for him, so it all worked out ok. He was so happy to find his dog that it warmed my heart! I'm glad we went out and got him.

ashade1 ashade1 Thanks so much for the kind words - - - it was a day when they were VERY much appreciated (dare I say NEEDED!!!). I so dearly love this forum and the wonderful people in it!

Thanks SO much @raysmyheart ---I hope they're thinking happy thoughts like that! Sometimes I feel like the thought vibes sent my way are more "hey - why are those OTHER cats allowed inside? What'd WE do wrong?" Hope not - we do the best we can :)

Hey, we're over 900 posts now! Keep going everyone, we've got to get to a thousand.

:bunnydance:

I went to pick up a repeat prescription of Susy's Calm-Down-You-Crazy-Cat medication today. The vet tech gave me a huge sack of free dry food samples for the gang. They know we have a lot of cats and they save all the free samples for us when they get near to the expiry date. I have enough free dry cat food to last till the end of the week and the cats all love a taste of something new.

Please note: There are rules for posting in this thread, and moderators are deleting posts that don't comply with them.

The rules -
1. Positive posts only. Tell us something nice about your day or about the world in general. Forget neutral - spread the joy! If you feel like ranting or venting about something that's, well, not as positive, start a separate thread for that please. If you get confused and post something we don't think is positive, it could end up deleted or moved to its own thread.

You can add neutral content to a positive post (for example, if you have a question about this fundraiser or if you want to respond to a previous post in a neutral way) but please avoid negativity so we don't have to edit it out.

2. Minimum of 15 words per post. Just posting "good morning!" won't qualify for the purpose of this thread and will be deleted. Keep your posts long enough and meaningful. The only exception is sharing a page from TCS on social media - in which case a link to the share is enough.

3. Proper English. Please don't just hit randomly at your keyboard. No gibberish allowed and as with other posts on the site, try to avoid texting abbreviations.

4. Comprehensible posts. Your posts need to make sense. Avoid using automated text generators. It's a babbling thread by nature, but we still expect you to communicate with your fellow members.

5.Original posts only. Please do not copy and paste text from another source. Not even from this site. Not even if you were the author. Just write something fresh for each post in this thread.

6. No consecutive posts. You can't add a reply if yours is the last post in the thread. If anyone starts talking to themselves to speed things up, they risk getting banned from this thread.

On a more "pawsitive" note, we should hit 1,000 posts today.

We're also past the "hump day" and the weekend is approaching. I've got a couple of good books to curl up with.

I just finished extending my boy’s kitty super highway this week plus reconditioning his scratch post with sisal ropes from his previous cat tree and replacing the fallen post from his current cat tree.

All blood, sweat, tears and blisters on the hand, but it’s worth it, after all, he’s my boy!

We got some snow today, but it didn't stick. Baby is really kicking the stuffing out of me. I keep reminding myself that it's a good thing and the pain is worth it cuz it means he's very strong. Marcy spent most of the day hiding and sleeping, but she finally came out for some food and I made everyone happy by letting them share a can of tuna. It's a rare treat so they really enjoy it.
