This thread is the best. I love coming here to see everyone’s photos and posts. Looking at the positive things in life brings true happiness, and I’m so glad everyone here is sharing their joy in order to help kitties who need it.
Here’s my little goof again. He brings me joy with his silliness.

I've just realised that I have a very good reason for feeling positive today. It's the 2nd anniversary of Sophie's Homecoming.

:cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:

Sophie managed to get out of the enclosure and got lost in the woods. I looked everywhere for her. Spent hours walking around calling her every day and left my trail camera out every night, hoping to get a glimpse of her. After a month I gave up and thought she was gone for good. I even started a thread for her in CTB.

Then, about 6 weeks after she had first disappeared, a farmer spotted her hanging out near his barn and called me. (I'd plastered every telegraph pole on the one and only road around here with lost cat posters.) We went to the place he'd seen her, called her a few times and she came running out of the woods!

So thank you for two more years, Sophie.

:welcomeback:

I work from home one day a week.
In my 'habitat', I don't have to share the building with more than 400 co-workers and I don't have to share my office with 6 people; it feels good to work in complete silence and in upper concentration. And Missy passing by to bring me out of concentration makes it even better.

I had a totally unexpected surprise today - I bought some bamboo leggings from a specialist clothing company a little while ago, and passed the details onto my mum (who then bought me a present from them :touched:). I received a small package today, containing two pairs of their bamboo socks for free - just as a thank-you for sharing their website :heartshape: So unexpected and lovely :happycat: :cloud9:

Hooray, now past 500 posts! :):):)
Norachan Norachan , I now remember when Sophie went missing and reading your story brought up all the wonderful emotion of being reunited with a lost cat. The happiness after calling and calling and wondering where could Sophie be! Happy Anniversary Sophie!!!:celebrate: Sophie shares the beautiful colors that my Speedy does. Such a beautiful photo of Sophie. Our cats are truly blessings in this life.

Norachan Norachan - Thanks for recounting this Heartwarming story about my your beautiful Sophie; she's just delightful, you know.

Here on the south shore, it's fifty-three degrees in the third week of November! I'd like to stay and chat, but I am outta here!

One of my ex-coworkers of the refugee board in Belgium has become a professional photographer. I like his oeuvre very much. I admire him and his pawsitive approach.

“(…)For over ten years, I have been travelling around the world with my camera. In the process of total immersion in every culture I discover, I place the human being as the main focus in my photographic work, through photographs which tend to open dialogues, arouse emotions and questions.(…)”

Another beautiful day in la-la land, much work to be done, and we are well fed, safe and happy.

I had a good day at work. I got to do some electrical wiring which is a nice change from maintaining computers and answering the phones. Nice to spend the day out of my chair and away from my desk.

Here is a photo of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. The city turns it into a big long skateway. It is still a while before it will be frozen for this year, the photo is from over 10 years ago.

Alicia88 Alicia88 , don't believe anyone who says they understand their phone. I'm fairly geeky but my iPhone continually amazes me, not always in a positive way. :dunno:
BUT...your pic is SO adorable! :cloud9::bigeyes::redcat:

AND...I'm very excited about our posts helping CATS. Because, you know, CATS.

Elvis thinks this is a GREAT idea. Especially if it involves FOOD.:cutecat:

Today I've had lots of quality time with my daughter, my niece and my best friend from childhood. My best friend sent me a photo of an old shamiyana (tent shelter in India) that her father had put up for her 12th birthday when they lived there decades ago. It had been rolled up in her attic but she recently took it down and finally was able to spread it out at the local YMCA. It's extraordinary. It looks brand new with the colors still as bright and vibrant as they were so long ago.

Something was missing, though. What could it be? :headscratch:

It's beautiful!
I took a baby oil bath last night and it's really helped a lot with my dry, itchy skin. Winter air - or more likely, electric heat - really does a number on me. Now if I could just get the endless hang nails under control, I'd be in business. I need to find my cuticle oil - it really seems to help. In the meantime, I'm just gonna sit here and read my book and enjoy a nice, quiet evening.

The shelter got a 6-year-old black mutt last week that's very, very overweight. Everybody's reaction was that she'd be hard to adopt out, but she's already got a serious prospect. :crossfingers:

This is a bad picture of Lassie, but the best I could do. She's afraid of cameras and cell phones.
