I reached a new level in cat "ownership" today. Today I tussled with a cat who was tangled in my underpants inside my jeans holding me hostage in the bathroom. No blood was shed. :p

I had sneakers on or i'd have left her my pants there but she wouldn't let me help her get her leg unstuck so I could at least have my underpants. :paperbag:  She just kept whapping me! While purring. Till she finally managed to untangle herself and settle in. She does love to steal my pants. Especially at 3 am. But we've never had a pants-tangle-tussle before. Just that carrot bag tussle the other day.:dancingblackcat::petcat:

Shane Kent Shane Kent - I wonder if there's a correlation between loving cats and enjoying the outdoors? You and I have camped and canoed our whole lives; mama africa mama africa has hiked and climbed just about all over the world and still hikes on weekends and Loves Nature; I think @foxxycat would rather be out in the kayak or on her bicycle than anywhere else; segelkatt segelkatt sails, @mani is clearly a gardener and Nature-Lover; Norachan Norachan talks about being in the woods more often than you and I do - and actually lives in the wood (good plan, norachan), and there are lots of other TCS members who get outside as often as they can. I wonder what percentage of cat people are outdoors people - or vice versa?

Edit, for segelkatt segelkatt :

You're absolutely right; pączki are Poland's answer to the Austrian and German Krapfen. There's actually a single bakery in Chicago that specialises; if this link works properly, you'll see a Google Answers reply come up in it own frame, which describes Krapfen as, "Austria and Germany's answer to the pączki:"

Pączki Krapfen - Google Search

Aus einem Artikel auf www.austria.info:

Austriackie pączki
.
Thank you, the link worked just fine. I have not made Krapfen in years as you want to make at least a dozen to make it worth your while and since my children all live far away I would not have anyone who would want to wreck their diet with this pastry, I don't know anyone who eats doughnuts either.

Norachan Norachan where is Shelter Chic in NYC? If it's in Manhattan, what neighborhood? I'm thinking about doing some volunteering & maybe that place would work for me.
I think it is in Manhattan, I'm not sure exactly where. My sister lives walking distance from Central Park, so I guess it's not far from there. They are always looking for people to foster cats and dogs and with kitten season fast approaching they'll probably need help with bottle babies soon. So if you're up for challenge.....

My positive is that I'm half way through a 14 day stint without a day off. (Ah, the joys of working free lance) I've just managed to get all of the (virtual) paper work done for the last week and finished all the preparation for the next four days of teaching. Time for a quick cuppa before it all starts again.

:runaround:

Job interview next Monday morning! With an actual bilingual Catholic school!

It is for just a couple of months, since their English teacher has some kind of problem, but it is great anyway. It would mean one more scool in my curriculum, a few months more of experience and good references for my future job. God, I am so excited!

My positivity is only two words long, but I want to make it count, so I guess I should elaborate.Snow day!!!!!:bliss:
Ditto, we received the call last night that school was cancelled today and they hardly ever cancel here.

My big pawsitive (you don't know how big) is that Lutari is legaly mine now.
Congrats! :bouquet: I saw the pic of her and she is a true beauty. Can't wait to see more pics of your lovely Dane.

Speaking of dogs, my pawsitive news of the day is that I will be making a trip to the East Coast to dogsit for my daughter and son-in-law's Aussie when they go away on a trip. Don't worry, their neighbors have cats so I will get my feline fix too. DH will be home with Carleton so I don't have to worry about him when I'm gone.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine - I can only speak for myself, but I'm convinced that there is a correlation between loving cats and enjoying the outdoors.

I love and admire Nature/Missy
I respect Nature/Missy.
I'm humbled by Nature/Missy
Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by Nature/Missy
Nature/Missy always welcomes me
...

I have a day off, and I enjoyed a long walk in the woods and the grassland today. It was freezing cold, but my overloaded mind feels almost empty.

Thanks! She is really cute, not as beautiful as Sophie (the blue one, that we got from a breeder) but she is a very sweet, calmed girl.

I think the headmistress would not take me too seriously if I look like a student  Given the cold, it is going to be, most likely, black velvet trousers with a nice blouse, a cream jersey and a silky scarf. Let's hope that is "smart" enough.

More pawsitivity, I see a cup of tea with my friend Marina in the near future. Like, in two lr three hours :)

My friend Jeff, a fellow cat lover, is also a huge fan of Mother Nature. Like myself, he will flee the city every chance he gets. I am so glad he has a new roommate, his previous one was a lazy guy that never left the house. The guy was very depressing, stressed out easy and Jeff's cats were miserable because of it. His cats are so much better now they don't have the stress and negativity around them all the time. I think it is very Pawsitive that my friend's cats no longer have to live with Mr Negative.

Of course I am much happier when I am close to the land. It's in my blood and ancestry. Cities leave me cold. Living in one for the last 10 years, I have to work hard at it to see it as PAWSitive. But there are good things about it, such as convenience. Still, I love my yards and miss our land.
No, I haven't seen "TROPHY" because I don't think I could stand it; I am easily upset by this subject. But I do know of it and I do fight daily against the crime against us all.
Having a good Friday with a tortoiseshell laptop warming us both, working away and thinking of someone I care about whose birthday is today.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - I think that Trophy has possibilities as a television show. Remember Thunderdome? Cage match: 2½ ton rhino versus hunter; mano-a-manocornu.

You're right about the convenience of living in urban spaces; everything in Life is a trade-off.

I've been enjoying my snow day by staying inside, taking a nap, drinking tea, and staying in my pajamas. I should probably get dressed at some point and dig my car out before it starts snowing again.

(I don't fit into the cat lover that lives in nature. I enjoy it once in a while, but there are too many bugs. I like living close to the city, too.)

Yeah, that sounds great to me :yeah: and yeah, it's hard to get an Uber out in the Mojave, I have no doubt, especially since our roads out there were a combo of sand and boulders :insertevillaugh:
My extremely pricy satellite service has given "freebie" weekends on the movie packages all month. There's a film I'd like to see on tonight, for once! Looking forward to that and a nice dinner, with, hopefully, several fellow watchers.;):lovecat2::winkcat::catrub:

Nothing like Shane Kent Shane Kent 's Canadian sunsets, @foxxycat 's New England sunsets, or tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 's Mojave sunsets, but tonight, this old Cherry tree in the foreground watched a slightly more colourful-than-usual Winter sunset, just as it has for more than an hundred years:

feb09sunset.jpg

Lari Lari - The yard is absolutely 100% bug-free right now. I'd invite you over for a 100% bug-free swim, but I have a small hard water problem right now.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine I appreciate the offer, but I got enough outside time digging out my car before the snow starts again.

I did get to talk to a couple neighbors I've never had full conversations with before. It made shovelling more bearable. One says she always waves to Lelia in my window. Clearly she has good taste.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine what a beautiful pic! We put in a cherry up in the Mojave. I was told by my ex that it was producing good fruit after we left (he stayed to get the house ready for sale, and it took awhile because it was right after the bubble burst in the housing market). View attachment 218095
tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - Look at that sky - and I see the Lilac blooming in the background! You must have had a great water source on your land to manage the plant materials that you had so very well. That's a heckuva lotta hard work.
