What a remarkable kitty!Yeah. I kinda lucked out with her. She doesn’t even wake me in the mornings when she’s hungry. She just sits next to her food plate and knows that I have alarms set and won’t miss her mealtimes. Now if I’m awake when she’s hungry, those are different rules……that I didn’t teach her.
Oh, she’s so much like Daisy, even the way they head rub (though Daisy’s belly is definitely a trap). Is Betty black and white or grey and white? I can’t tell in this video. She’s such a darling!
Betty is gray and white. She’s a Golden Girl. Her full name is Betty White. And her belly is not a trap. She loves booty rubs more than belly rubs but she’ll take either. She also loves having her chest to chin rubbed. Just about anywhere.
I still can’t cut her nails though.

Daisy’s belly is sooo tempting - fat and floofy and with a big grey spot on it, but it’s a danger zone, lol. She is good about having her claws trimmed, though, and doesn’t kick up too much of a stink about getting her capsules, surprisingly enough - she did at the vet.
It took awhile to teach her. But Betty is an absolute pro at taking capsules now. I simply coat them in a small amount of Hills A/D and drop the capsule morsel on the carpet. She’s learned that there’s a capsule in it and this whole process will go quicker if she simply scoops and swallows. And so that’s what she does. We no longer have the lick and flick battles of the past. (And I always lost the wrestling matches trying to pill her forcibly.) She takes two capsules in the morning and three in the evening. And when she’s eaten each one, then and only then do I plate her medicine meal (a slightly smaller meal so she’s taking her meds with food but not so large that I have to worry about her regurg or throwing it up later.)Grey and white, distant sisters!

What a clever girl she is! Daisy’s not keen enough on wet food that I’d try giving hers that way. She has Cisapride 5mg capsules, which are very small. I’ve found the way to give them is while we’re still in bed in the morning. She’s usually curled up near my head snoozing, or if she’s awake she’s suggesting it’s breakfast time. I have the pill bottle on my bedside table, so it’s easy to get one out and get it down her throat. She may spit it out once, but being a capsule rather than a tablet, it doesn’t get all gunked up and impossible to make her swallow. It’s preferable to have her take it this way, because it’s bitter, so I wouldn’t want her tasting it in her food, and she likes getting liquid by syringe even less.It took awhile to teach her. I only give her meds by capsule and only if she scoops and swallows them herself. I can re-coat that capsule and try again all morning/evening before she gets fed. She knows this. She takes a couple pills that I pack into size five gelatin capsules for her. It makes it so I’m sure she’s taken her meds when the capsule is not remaining on the carpet and she never has to taste her medicine. Except when they give us liquid meds.
I have found that’s easier to do when she’s at my level rather than when I’m at hers. If I have to give her liquid meds, I again precede it before food but I wait for her to join me on the food prep counter (her food, not mine; separate counters) and I get her food all ready. Then I grab her in a hug and ambush her with her liquid med and quickly follow that with her plate of food for when she’s forgiven me and recovered, she can get that taste out of her mouth. If I have to give a liquid med, I like to do it at her lunch so I don’t have to give any other meds that meal. I lose her on the liquid meds (run off to the other room) and she wouldn’t return for the capsules until she’s gotten over the taste of betrayal. We don’t like liquid meds over here.
Lila is the type to say "You look really busy. But your lap doesn't." It's never a problem if I'm sitting down working on something until she decides to do what we call the "Munchie march", where she stands on my lap and kneads with all 4's. Sometimes her tail gets swishing so hard she'll fling things off the table. She's one of those cats that drools when she's blissed out, so she's putting pinpoint holes in my legs (not declawed), knocking things over with her tail, and spitting on me all at once!

Sarah has had on and off again anal gland problems her whole life. I know how to express them, but sometimes she does it for me in the worst situations possible. Once, she was in my lap while I was sitting on a step and I moved her. As I did, she let them go....all over me AND my phone.

This wasn't my cat, but I had my dog at the vets and one of the clinic cats was in the room sleeping on a chair. My dog yawned, and I said "wow, buddy, your breath smells". The cat woke up, looked our way with sleepy half-closed eyes, and did the head pancake thing and took her paw AND front leg and wrapped it around her nose, tightly, and went back to sleep. We were laughing so hard, apparently the cat agreed with me!
