Well, it stopped raining briefly on Monday morning. I was so excited that I got up early and walked for 2 hours. It was already clouding over when I got home though, and by 11 am it was raining again. Still pouring down now. I`m starting to worry that Japan might sink.

2 hours walk and an hour of yoga yesterday. Today I did a bit of gardening (everything I planted has dissolved so it all got dumped in the compost) and spent about an hour on my woodwork project while it was drizzling, then did another 90 minutes of yoga when it started to pour.

It was sunny today.

:bliss:

I got loads done. Cleaned out the outdoor cat house, dumped all the straw bedding in the compost because it was damp and smelly, then left the boxes out to air while I worked on my woodwork for a few hours. Then I replaced the bedding with fresh straw, swept down the deck and raked up the last of the debris from the typhoon.

No time for yoga today because I`m working from 4 pm to 10 pm, but I`m happy the cats have some sweet smelling straw to nap in.

Oh, that sounds like fun! Have you been dancing for long, or is this your first class?
I did it for a couple years from 2017-2019, and then the studio stopped doing tap and we moved and covid happened, so I was excited to see a park district class that didn't require you to be an expert.

Two kids and unlost baby weight later and my toes felt awfully squished in my tap shoes, so I may need to go up a size. But it was fun otherwise!

It's so hot!

I had to go into town to run some errands yesterday, so my only real exercise was about 30 minutes walk. I had to walk up one long, straight road with the sun full in my face and no shade at all. It only takes about 20 minutes, but I seriously thought I was going to die by the end of it.

Came home and did 30 minutes very gentle yoga under the fan and that was enough.

Today has just been about 30 minutes gardening and 30 minutes yoga. Some rain would be nice.

:crossfingers:

How's everyone else doing?
post some of those yoga photos in the media...

I think it would be kinda difficult to take pictures of myself when I`m in the poses.

How`s everyone been doing this week? Still lovely and sunny here and it`s started to cool down a bit. I`ve had a couple of long walks, lots of yoga and I`ve almost finished my woodwork project. Just needs to be sanded down and stained now.

Going horse riding tomorrow!

My knees (arthritis and slipped kneecaps) have been a bear. I still managed to walk the dog for 35 minutes. Going down the stairs was okay, but going up HURT. The dog was in her glory during the evening walk. People to sniff! Things to Pee on! Stories to tell the cat!

45 minutes yoga and 90 minutes horse riding on Tuesday. I rode the lovely Midori and she was a very good girl.
One hour gardening (got my woodwork project finished) and 45 minutes yoga yesterday.
90 minutes stacking firewood and 45 minutes yoga today.

Now that the humidity is gone, and it's cooled off, I've set my goal to walk every morning, and am 4 for 4 so far this week. Only 20 to 25 minutes each, but better than nothing. The eventual plan is 2 x 20-ish minute walks a day. I'm also doing extra walking around the house, to get my step count up. My goal is 10,000 a day, but so far my best was 8,000, with the average 6,000. My Fitbit is finicky though, so it could be a bit higher than that.

That`s good going rubysmama rubysmama I know they say you should aim for 10,000 steps a day, but there`s no proof that 10,000 is any better than 8,000. When the first pedometers came out they were made by a Japanese company. They were given the name Manpokei (Ten thousand step watch) just because it sounded kind of catchy. 8,000 steps is probably just as good, but Hasenpokei doesn`t have quite the same ring to it.

I spent three hours stacking firewood, chopping up kindling and raking and sweeping up around my wood racks today. Hard work, but I know I`m going to be glad I did all this when winter starts. I think I already have enough firewood to keep me going until spring.

90 minutes yoga after that. I`ve got some very tired muscles now.

I've heard that before, about how the 10,000 steps a day originated. Funny really, when it was all about marketing.

One hour of yardwork and one hour of yoga yesterday.

Today I had the day off so decided to get up early and go for a 2 hour hike. Then when I got home I had breakfast and did some more yardwork for a few hours, then 45 minutes yoga. I'm doing very well with my winterizing this year. I'm looking forward to some cold weather.

Yesterday I went to stroller strides and apple picking (where my main exercise was trying to get J to a potty and fishing M out of a shallow pond she slipped in.

How's everyone been doing this week? Most of my exercise has been stacking firewood, but I'm all done now. I have three big towers of timber ready to burn.

One of my cats managed to sneak out while I was working outside, so I spent a day doing lots of ten minute walks around the block hoping to find her. I set my trail cameras up as well but I didn't catch a glimpse of her. Then the next evening it started raining and she scrambled back over the fence by herself. I bet the little nincompoop was hiding in the bushes listening to me call her all the time!

Today I started with 30 minutes yoga, walked for 90 minutes in my afternoon break and then did another hour of yoga later on. Here's a picture from one of my walks last week.

I've been pretty consistent with my walking the last 2 weeks. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Most days they're outside walks. Today was inside, though, and my Fitbit recorded it as 32 minutes, as I think it kept counting as I continued walking around the house, even after I considered my walk done.

SUN 24 minutes
MON 25 minutes
TUE 27 minutes
WED 30 minutes
THU 29 minutes
FRI 29 minutes
SAT 32 minutes

What do you think of the Fitbit rubysmama rubysmama ? Do you think it encourages you to do more?

I`ve been feeling pretty tired today, I think it`s because I did so much last week. Just an hour of yoga and an hour walk and I`m all done for today.

I like the Fitbit. I think it does encourage me to do more. Especially now that I have a decent walking streak going, I don't want to break it.

It can be a bit finicky though, as it calculates steps by arm movement. So it doesn't count steps, if you don't swing your arms, therefore, just normal walking doesn't always get counted. Neither does walking through the grocery store pushing a cart. But on the other hand, weeding the garden, with arm movement can count as steps. Funnily, one time it counted mowing the grass as bike riding. Mine's 6+ years old, btw, so they may be better now.

I wish someone would post ideas for an outside cat-house, I made one last winter with straw for bedding, I worry about the poor ferals out in the snow and cold...
