Oooh, careful @foxxycat  You don't want to get that ripped, do you?

@Columbine  Spotty is a great name for an appaloosa.

I still can't find Twinkle.
Walked for 2 hours this morning, then spent the afternoon doing yard work in case she is close by and just wary about showing herself. Walked for another hour at around 4 pm.

She's been out before, for 3 nights last October and 5 nights in March. It's not that cold here yet, hopefully she's out in the forest chasing mice somewhere.

Why do my cats keep running off? I seem to spend half my life looking for a missing cat.

I didn't get any yoga done yesterday :anon: The tack cleaning took WAY longer than I expected - 3 1/2 hours, and it STILL wasn't finished :slant: I'll be finishing it off shortly.

1 hour of yoga this morning.

Got the Friday Flash sale email for the yoga studio near work. Next Wednesday at 4 pm is a flow class.  A space has to be pre-purchased today for the special $5 rate. I really need to pick up yoga again.

@Norachan  oh yeah that would be awesome if I could. I just loved the way it had a large variety of exercises spaced out in short burst-the short running is like 20 seconds..I can handle 20 seconds...If I lost the excess weight and got serious about my diet I COULD get arms like that. I already have definition but the excess weight hides it. My legs-oh god I hate clothes shopping...my calves themselves are twice as thick as most people's. lets just say I have soccer legs for sure. I could never wear those skinny jeans everyone loves-I need at least a 2x to just get my leg in the opening..If I was ripped like that that would be awesome..but I rather be strong over ripped. :)

got my boots in the mail yesterday. my feet were too swollen to get into the 8W so I am wearing them today and so far 3 hours later my feet seem to be ok..back to lunchtime jams is what I call my workouts at lunch. I don't have much time and have to pack a ton of moves into 30 minutes. Last night I actually cooked so didn't get to the gym. I will tonight. Took me 2 hours to do everything for dinner-chopping/cooking/baking/cleaning. At least we have food for another 3 days..just have to get creative. I need to stop with the take out..and frozen dinners which are loaded with a ton of salt. God I really dislike cooking but I hate canned food even more so alas I will cook..

Back to the gym tonight now that my feet aren't enflamed like they have been since wearing cheap boots. 30 min at lunch then another hour on elliptical tonight and a few weights. Good job everyone!

And kitty you better get your Fuzzyhead back home STAT!! Hope you find your kitty Norachan!!!

I hope you find Twinkle, Norachan.

2.50 miles on the treadmill this morning.

3.50 miles walked during lunch.

6 miles! That's the first 6- miler in a while, so I'm glad.

ok I did it. 28 minutes of lunchtime jam. I rewatched yesterday's video and did the floor work-mountain climbers etc..and got a good sweat going. Tomorrow I will bring a change of clothes. Normally I keep it to where I only sweat a faint amount. I have an old tshirt in my locker so will throw that on. I am getting better but so tired! God if you guys are working out=don't STOP! Its HARDER to restart than to just keep going on low impact!!

Good Job Winchester. I can't wait to break it out at the gym. Today I feel good. Must be the sun. Yesterday I was sluggy poky.

I did one of the programs in my yoga app today. Leroy stared at me but otherwise didn't poke his drippy wet nose all over me like he usually does. I could not do the camel pose at all. My back isn't that bendable
The program was listed as for beginners. No idea why they put a more advanced pose in.

I ended up reserving a spot in the class next Wednesday. $5 is a great deal on a class that normally costs $15
I may splurge on an Au Bon Pain dinner after class instead of trying to make something when I get home exhausted by 6:30pm, a bit sooner if I call for a ride share instead of taking the bus.

It took about a year to get into X-ray, had to make very strong statements until they allowed X-ray, whole year they claim it to be nothing without proper examination of shoulder:

Then they say that usually nothing is done to this kind of injury. I wonder why I pay so much taxes. I don't have thousands for private medical care, but I know they would do operation to fix the issue.

It hurts, can't use much of computer, can't pull or push much of anything with that arm, shoulder joint makes lot of noises and when I turn in bed I wake up as it hurts, but it is like nothing to these doctors.

Lately it has gotten even worse, riding bicycle is becoming hard and some days staying on place is difficult and moving is as or more difficult.

I don't really have much of motivation to do anything, when I know pain is not going to go away, probably ever, what is the point really? It is not only issue with this so called healthcare I'm having and that has lead me to give up exercising pretty much completely, why would I really bother to increase length of all suffering when things are not going to improve any bit no matter how much on tries, I would rather live short in such case.

OMG @JTbo

That looks awful! No wonder it hurts. What happened to cause the break originally? Is there really nothing they can do? It doesn't look like the kind of break that will heal naturally. It should have started to fuse by now. I can understand why you're frustrated with your health service. Can you threaten to sue them if they don't do anything about it? It's crazy that they expect you to just carry on with that kind of injury as if nothing had happened.

Sending you hugs and vibes, I'm really sorry that you're going through this.

Walked for 30 minutes early this morning. It's starting to feel cold to me, though maybe not that cold. The water bowls outside don't have any ice on them yet and Hiro and Button are still choosing to sleep in the outdoor shelters rather than come in the house.

Walked again for an hour after work.

Still no sign on Twinkle.

Oh, JTbo, that hurts! Just looking at it, I can't even begin to imagine the pain you're in. I am so sorry. How are you going to handle a break like that? I don't know what to say.
There's no way that is going to heal on its own. No way.

3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning.

JTBo-WTH?! How come they won't do surgery to reattach it? WOW. Just Wow. Do you guys have access to herbs? Chinese Cat's claw is a flower that has pain relieving properties-Turmeric/black pepper but that is more for muscle strains. Wow. Maybe drink some whiskey? I just don't know how you do all you do with that kind of injury. Do you ice it? They say ice and heat but that kind of injury needs surgical intervention/anesthesia followed by pain management after for about 4 to 6 weeks at the most. I really don't understand some doctors...maybe show up and puke on them-some people have pain so bad it causes them to vomit. Make sure to tell them you can NOT live like this and that you need help...crying may help plead your case. Just wow.

Last night I started good-got on that stair elliptical thing-couldn't buzz through a mile as fast..that was 29 minutes for 1 mile. Did that for 25 minutes-was getting bored so jumped on the elliptical machine and buzzed off 2 miles but I was poky. 18 minutes a mile. I just was tired by the second half hour and my left foot keeps aching-Didn't matter how I put the foot on the pedal-the left foot is my problem child-the little toes stick out farther than the right foot so hard to find shoes that have room on the side but not the box of the toe area. So I got about an hour of aerobics done but I was just feeling pokey. Stretched for 10 minutes and headed home. was cold out by the time I left.

Norchan-I am sorry your baby hasn't showed up yet.

@JTbo    Is that a separation of the acromio-clavicular joint?  Meaning a larger than normal separation between the end of the collar bone and the shoulder wing bone?

If it is, can they surgically repair it?  or am I missing something?   looks painful!!

Yeah, collar bone end is too far and too high from where it should be, they have 3 level classification and my case is class 2, ties between collar bone and shoulder wing bone had severed and now there is too much of tissue so parts are too far apart, which causes also loose joint issue, but that is current line they have formed, such injury is not treated with anything else than pain killers and some moves, even that they know there is operation that should help, but it is expensive and currently they are trying to save money from everything.

I did fell down with a scooter about year ago and there happened to be some kind of root so all weight hit that root and contact point was shoulder, I felt snap and knew it is not going to be ok by itself, I checked official guidelines for such injury and x-ray was what should of done, however doctors constantly refused it from me and private healthcare is completely out of reach for me.

Injury is getting more painful these days and limits a lot of what I can do, it was much better some time ago, but certainly something is happening on it as pain can radiate to fingers and to lower back when I'm too long on one spot.

I guess I should find some doctor that deals with sport injuries and might get better opinion, but not sure how much that would cost again.

New meeting at Monday, hopefully I get better opinion then, maybe I should bring axe to meeting, it might speed up things :D

Wow!  the problems of a national health care system....unbelievable.

If you can find a sports medicine doctor, that would be a better choice than dealing with regular general doctors...

In this country, we have regular orthopedic doctors and orthopedic doctors who deal with sports medicine. The sports medicine ones are the way to go. They get you up and moving faster, and know all the intricate details better than the regular ortho doctors...

Perhaps the axe may not be a bad idea!

It sounds so painful.. anything with the shoulder is.. People do not realize how important and how involved shoulders are...

Are there Shoulder specialists in your country? Those would be the best ones to see.

I have shoulder issues also.. I broke my upper arm, near the shoulder. I swore I dislocated the shoulder and popped it back into place, when I fell. I could feel it moving.. After the break healed, I had all kinds of issues. I had 2 MRI's which really did not show much of anything.. I ended up with tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, and a cartilage tear. That was 4 years ago.. I had an arthroscopic procedure and still have issues from it. Now the elbow is involved and I get numbness periodically in the last 2 fingers of my hand...

The end of the clavicle rubs the shoulder wing bone a bit. I really should have them remove about 1 cm of bone, but I am not about to undergo any more procedures, unless it is absolutely necessary.. Once you start messing around with the shoulder, anything can happen...

So I really do understand your pain...

Wishing you all the best....

All I can add is that ICE became my best friend.. I used to ice my shoulder constantly, until it was numb. That was the only thing that helped..and a lot of wine!!

I thought this was interesting and perhaps worthwhile to read:   http://www.developgoodhabits.com/develop-a-fitness-habit/

One of the things they talk about is chaining, or connecting your exercise to something. With me, as soon as I get out of bed in the morning, I put my sneakers on and I tie my hair back; for some reason, I associate sneakers and hair with the treadmill. I'm going on the treadmill as soon as the furkids have breakfast. This is what it is. This is what I do. Sneakers. Hair. Treadmill. I don't associate my clothes with the treadmill so much, but.....Sneakers + Hair = Treadmill.

Not so sure about the other things they talk about. They talk about precommitment. I take my walking clothes and sneakers in a duffle bag to work with me everyday. I pack it up at night and put it on the kitchen table, next to my tote bag. It's ready to go. I can just grab it in the morning. I guess that packing up my bag is also considered a way to reduce barriers, also mentioned in the article. There it is, all packed up and ready to go.

As far as goals, I don't really have any, other than to stay right around 140 pounds. To be healthy, to be happy about what I'm doing to try to stay healthy. Part of that is my walking. But I don't really reward myself, other than buying clothes every once in a while. I don't know about that one.

I don't know that I have any roadblocks (other than food!). But it talks about seeing your roadblocks and then figuring out how to get past them. My GF used to say that she was too tired at night to exercise. I kept trying to tell her that once she started to exercise, she might not be so tired....it's weird, but that's how it works sometimes. I get horrible headaches, so that's a roadblock, I guess. But I can't tell you how many times, I've gone to the treadmill to "only do a mile because I don't feel good" only to end with 3 miles done. Because sometimes once you start, you can finish. And I can't tell you how many times Rick has told me that" The days when you don't feel like exercising are the days when you need to exercise."

My biggest problem and I need to find a way around this is that I hate to exercise. I really hate to exercise. Oh, I feel great when I'm done! I do all my exercises and my squats and lunges, use my dumbbells, do my crunches, and all my PT stretches and I feel wonderful. But it's getting there. I keep telling myself to get back to the bedroom after supper and get it done. Or get my butt downstairs and hit the Bowflex. But I slack off for a while. Then I start back up and I'm good for a while. And then I start slacking back off. I wish I liked exercising as much as I like walking. And if you have some ideas about that, I'd really appreciate them.

Anyway, I saw the article and thought I'd post it. If it helps somebody, that's great.

Oh man,

I have been so bad.. I did a lot of exercising at the gym, watching my diet ~~ being really good.. I lost 20 lbs.. It was huge for me...

I got so excited and wanted to celebrate...well the celebration has continued for months...

Seriously.. a lot going on.. yes, I could have  continued the gym..but NO, I did not.. But I really had a lot going on..

I am going through a kind of semi-stressful period right now.. I know the gym would, in most likelihood, help; but for the life of me, I cannot find time to get there until after this period is done..

I also have to find time to really clean this apartment.. it is a huge apartment of 1200 square feet... 2 bedrooms, 2 baths...so lots of stuff to clean and purge out...

Trying to get a lot of financial stuff together for a "something" for my future.. I really do not want to comment on it; cuz of 2 reasons: 1) if I do, it will not come true--just my luck and 2) it is kind of involved and would not happen for a long time (5 years) if it did come true.....

thanks again for listening to me...

((Hugs))

I can relate to you girls. I admit when Floey got ill and passed away I pretty much said to hell with it. But lately I am now in size 18 and well I need to do something about it. I won't buy bigger. I am officially in 1x to 2X button up blouse. So back at it. I just starting slow again. I am starting at 5lb hand weights again. I just have to do what I used to do when I was younger and dealing with heavy situations/depression/never ending sadness:  Put my head down-start walking one foot in front of the other and say "
It" And get moving. Even when tears are streaming down my face. At least I am upright and moving. Some days I would cry the entire time I am walking (this was outside in the woods) so I just made time every day. 15  min increments. I am very familiar with the black hole of depression. Sadly for me no medication seems to help the situation. The only thing that does=dancing/weights etc. But even when I am feeling good I still feel a black cloud-I tend to stick to myself and not speak up because we all know the line "don't want to be a burden" to anyone.

So yes when I was younger I found myself overwhelmed with emotions and had no clue how to cope. So it was anger. Now I am a tad older-wiser- and still have the same problems as I did in my teens/20s. SO I am back at the gym. If I could afford it I would buy my own equipment but sadly it seems to be more beneficial to be out in the crowd at the gym=when you see someone in motion-you are more drawn to be in motion. I watch this every time at the gym=someone jogging on treadmill-more people jog. even if for only 10 seconds...it's weird how this is. I just wanted to let you know I understand. And some days after my workout and stepping outside then seeing the pretty colors of the fall..makes it more enjoyable. Stay strong and keep going!!

OPPs-forgot to add my exercise=today at lunch I did 20 minutes. Got way too sweaty otherwise I would have kept pushing for 30 minutes. did 15 min from that video I posted earlier last week-just picked up where I left off-today was arm exercises and back/shoulders. yesterday was Squatting/leg lift type exercise. Tonight going to take a walk outside in the woods again. yesterday spent an hour in the woods with Honeybee. She loves it when I take her for walks. She just loves to explore-we are walking on the riverbed that is all boulders-kind of hard to do but it definitely makes me sweat. I figure we will not have this warm weather in a month so better to enjoy it outside rather than a stuffy gym.

I'm not sure when I last posted :dk:
Today I did my back heavy and chest light. Tonight is the first night I get to plan a gymnastics class  I found a YouTube vid of girls doing core strength exercises to Beyoncé. I thought I would be like an aerobics instructor and demonstrate how to do it. Sheesh. I think not. it was way to hard for me. So I decided to do easier exercises to slower music. I made up a routine for a Rocky theme song and then thought that might be a bit "olden days" so I tried other songs. It's really hard to get the timing right ect..... So basically I spent all afternoon doing exercises and I just couldn't work it out. Now I am really wrecked. I may just lay down on one of the crash mats and sleep while they make up there own exercises :lol3:
Keep going everybody.
