You guys are all too nice to me, I might become lazy if such keeps up! :D

Anyway, you can see how my disaster has developed here, it is all of my exercise in Polar activity tracker service. Calories are just those burned while exercising, have to add over 2000 kcal (or more) from BMR to get daily totals.
upload_2017-5-23_21-46-0.png

Other indoor usually means chopping firewood, but also longer bike rides as GPS tracking consumes too much battery for anything longer than 3 hours, so if my day needs for example 3 of 1 hour long sessions, I use other indoor profile as there is nothing else really fitting.

Today's numbers are not yet in, but slowly I'm getting back on it, these tools are great in motivating, but I would really need to figure out some goal and plan to reach it, doing all these chores and getting fat percentage down is of course a goal, but something bigger with some competitive element would work for me.

It's just that I'm rather alone here in nothingness and only thing to compete is me. So if things get across my path a lot, it is hard to keep up, so I need to figure out something for next autumn and winter.

Oh today I did around 50 minutes of wood chopping, but I think I go to walk now as there is bit less pollen in air. Trying to get that 1700 calories deficit allowance maxed out today.

JTbo, we're just being honest. Honest! :)

Tuesday -
1.5 miles on the treadmill
11 of 11 hours with 300+ steps
10,341 steps

And last night, my knee didn't feel half bad! :crossfingers:

I did roughly 3.5 mile walk (bit over 5.6km) yesterday evening, it was actually close to midnight when I got home, still enough bright to read outdoors, no more star spotting as sun stays too high during the nights.

It was nice to notice that my HR was at zone 2 almost the whole time.

Today around 50 minutes of wood chopping.

Going to make 2nd pizza, spreadsheet shows I would then have 1322 calorie deficit which is 41% for today, also I would get all the vitamins micros and macros needed then, bit under 1900 calorie was needed to get all important nutrients, that is where exercise is great, it allows to have balanced diet even when having deficit for weight loss.

50 minute bike ride for the late evening, just too nice weather to not to ride, so deficit is going to be higher, I'm not going to do late night eating, that is bad in every way and I did eat before riding so that protein is still being processed.

Maximum rate for protein to be digested is 10g per hour, lower end was something below 1 gram per hour, it depends what kind of protein among other things, size of person, activity level etc.

So if one takes 40 grams of protein, it is good for several hours of workout, it does not harm to get more after workout, but best thing is that there is unprocessed protein in system after workout.

I still need to improve my diet and my spreadsheet, but look how much green and by eating pizza! Sugar and Vitamin C are my main issues now (orange juice, need find other source of potassium), for Choline I don't have enough data to have correct number so that is not necessarily off.
At top, Green line is carbs, Red is fats and Blue is protein, this calculates needs based on weight, activity and amount eaten.
upload_2017-5-24_23-31-58.png

I weight what I eat and put grams under food items at top rows, probably not much makes sense because of it is not in English, but maybe you get the idea, so as I exercise with this I can then adjust my diet to get everything needed.

These are all micro nutrients I have data from, there are thousands of foods in database where I can put more of those into this table and from all I have micro nutrients so I don't need to guess much of anything.
If I get then day when I barely can do anything but sleep, I know it cannot be my diet as I feel my diet is not that bad, I'm not missing anything important and pretty much everything is in recommended range.

US and EU recommendations of course differ, for example in US potassium is 4700mg and for EU that is 3500mg, so it is bit hard to know which is right, here they are very afraid of getting too much of it.

I wish that everyone could have such tool, but this one is not very easy to use as of now, also there can be errors, but to find those out I would need to find some specialist, sit down and go trough whole thing, sadly that might not happen.

jtbo jtbo You'd be a giant in Japan. I was tiny when I lived in the UK but I'm about average height now. Actually a little taller than some of my friends.

Winchester Winchester Glad you're still with us. Every little counts. I admire you for keeping at it even though your knee hurts. What's going on with that? Are the cortisone shots helping?

90 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes on my bike yesterday. I managed to transition from Bakasana (Crow Pose) to Sirsasana (Tripod Headstand) for the first time yesterday.

:rockout:

90 minutes of yoga so far this morning. Going for a run later, if the rain stops.

Congratulations on your first-time pose, Norachan! That's excellent!

Right now the knee pain isn't all that bad; it's still there, but not like it was. Until the doctor schedules an MRI, I will just continue to walk. I just won't go crazy about it.

Wednesday -
2 miles on the treadmill
11 of 11 hours with 300+ steps
11,843 steps for the day

Keep on keeping on!

I think pain levels are a good indicator of how much you should be doing Winchester Winchester As long as it doesn't hurt too much a bit of walking should be OK.

Thanks for the congratulations. I've been able to do both poses for a while now, but I haven't had the courage to go from the arm balance into the headstand before. You just have to take a deep breath and lower your head to the floor.

It's a bit of a , but not too bad.

I did two 1 hour yoga sessions today. I wanted to go for a run, but the rains coming down too heavily. I think the monsoon is upon us.

@foxxycat jtbo jtbo how are things going?

Say, don't you get your vision go black and water fall/vacuum cleaner like whoom in ears, when you do that?

I can't keep my head down at all, even when doing pushups I get bit of those symptoms.

Hereby I classify you as a superhuman with incredible ability :)

Yesterday was really hard for me, I did manage to do around 20 minutes of wood chopping at midnight though, I'm lovely neighbor, screaming chainsaw at midnight and all, good thing I don't have neighbors nearby :D

I'm getting inactivity stamps from activity tracker when I'm sleeping, which is bit annoying.

You might need to click this one bigger to see, this is current month's log, each month has own page and also that tool I showed earlier is in this book, it is bit of a mess still, but what I like here is how my exercise builds up, it kind of motivates to do the exercise so I get to fill in and see it's effects, I'm that simple to pull around :D
upload_2017-5-26_15-9-56.png

Cell AA37 has prediction of weight loss, it takes deficit and fat burn from exercise to make it match to real weight loss, so I guess that exercise burns additional fat while deficit burns fat at rest, or then there is something else going on that I have not figured out yet.

Today's numbers are missing one meal and one exercise session that I will do bit later.

I changed my diet few days ago and decided to try bigger deficit for a while to see how it goes. Bit less intensity and length for exercise now as I'm trying to keep nutrients in check while having big deficit, I would need more carbs to push harder and I can't find edible low fat low sugar carb to add, eating plain pasta would work, but how do you swallow all that?

Only a nerd can get exited with so much data available, so I do classify :D

For some reason 1st day morning weight was much higher than evening weight or next morning weights, I'm not sure if that is a fluke with a scale or something else. Previous day from previous month had smaller weight, so I would like to think around 110-111kg would of been correct value.

Stupid scale does not show fat percentage anymore, so I might need to buy a new one which again will show different weights.

Today's motivational music has been band called Windir, songs of Norsk mythology and alike.

Usually your morning weight is your lowest weight of the day. I think? That's the way it is for me.

Friday -
1.5 miles on the treadmill
11 of 11 hours with 300+ steps
10,781 steps

Yeah, if scale works sanely and if not drinking water during the night, of course that is not always the case, especially not with scale working sanely! :D

Morning/evening weight can indicate then level of hydration, for me if morning and evening weight gets close to each other I know I have drank too little. Of course evening weight depends a lot of how long from last dinner, how much eaten, drank and if there was activity after that etc.

Today 1 hour of firewood making and I plan to do bike ride or walk at the evening after rain stops.

I have added boiled pasta now to diet, which gives carbs and I think that is working nice, except weight goes up instead of down despite having deficit of over 1000, most likely reason being muscle's energy storage is being filled up.
Eating nothing but pasta without seasonings is of course bit of chore, but have to do it. I just wish I could start working out without deficit soon, but can't do that, have to keep exercise small too because of weight loss plan.

LOL! No, I don't get that. The yoga I do has lots of inversions. I do headstands, handstands and arm balances. I'm quite happy upside down.

I've noticed that I have my lowest body weight first thing in the morning but lowest body fat ratio last thing at night. Is that the same with other people?

I did an hour of yoga after work on Saturday. Today I did a 20 minute run and 30 minutes of yoga before work, then another hour of yoga afterwards.

Feeling it in my legs now.

Enjoy your Sunday off Winchester Winchester

I was listening Harakiri for the Sky - Panoptycon here.

If you think about this being about exercising/weight loss it is kind of what I think many can relate to:
Listen folks:
Nothing in this world worth having comes easy at all,
For every decision that comes to our mind, we pay the price.
What hereafter will wait for us, only the ocean knows,
but you can be everything but certain,
I paid the price for every word I dropped.
Needless to say, my constant fear of separation,
is actually not disappearing,
Still the same reason why I’m depraved of sleep,
I’m losing friends and above all: I’m losing confidence!

“Forever and a day”, in this case no second abandon,
just pure resolution and our final decision,
in this relation, we never thought to repent.

I can still hear you admonishing me,
but slowing down is not an option.
I can still feel the rhythm and my heart is still beating,
so your presence is no gift, but a curse!
You all once meant the world tome, who knows,
maybe we’ll meet again at my funeral.
Don’t get me wrong, this is no reckoning to the life we’ve lived,
but the only thing we share today, is our past.

Let me back in!

Bleeding hands grab for the last tread,
I exchanged all confidence to self-elected suspense,
Sometimes I suffer from this life hour for hour,
but apart from this circumstance,
my voice gets stronger with every minute that falls.
Did you ever, ever bleed for something?

Maybe these streets would be an easier way to go,
without these turns, just going straight.
but we can’t choose their course,
cause this is how we built those.
I walked a thousand miles to escape these barren landscapes, but they are still here.
They haunt me like shadows, cause this endless melancholy is my oldest fear.
Quite gloom/grim lyrics in their songs, but they manage to tell about struggles of our life in this world quite well.
HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY LYRICS - "Aokigahara" (2014) album

I have been slacking off lately, I did around 1 hour of wood chopping yesterday, but had many days before that where I did nothing at all.

It's the problem when you realize, that you have only few years until there is no improving, but just slowing down the downfall.

-- This is my song
The moment when you see there is no better coming, no matter how hard you try, the moment when you see there is no growing together, only degrading and disappearing to abyss alone, to keep fight on, is there a point, what would be the light to aim for?

For the brightest of minds darkest spots in abyss are reserved, for the most beautiful minds the ugliest corners will be appointed, there are no salvation, abyss will be your only salvation. So we fight to keep light on.

We consume the darkness and breathe out the light, we keep the fight on, forever we fight on.

We keep fight on, to have that light in abyss, to aim for, no matter what world brings on.

jtbo jtbo I like those lyrics, they're quite moving.

I live near Aokigahara. It translates as Sea of Blue Trees. The forest I do most of my hiking in.

Harakiri means "Cut the belly". Before going into battle Samurai warriors would cut their abdomen with a sword and then bind it up tightly. There was no recovering from a wound like this, they knew they would eventually bleed to death. It made them fearless in battle. Why fear death on the battle field when a slow death from blood-loss was inevitable?

Monday I did an hour of yoga and then walked for an hour. I was going to walk longer, but it was too hot and humid to keep going.

Tuesday it rained, such a relief! An hour of yoga, then a 20 minute run followed by another 30 minutes of yoga to cool down.

Wednesday an hour of yoga, 30 minutes on my bike then a 20 minute run. I have to time it so I do my runs just before sun down. It's cooler then.

Yesterday two 1 hour yoga sessions, one for balance and core strength, one for flexibility.

Keep going everyone.

Band is from Austria, which is bit surprising when looking band's name and album's name, their musical style is certainly not for everyone, but emotion of lyrics is brought nicely with that style.

Japan has been different, still is I guess, I like to read about history which can be very interesting and eye opening for world of today. There are some old very big rocks that are thousands of years old in Japan, which in our schools not much was mentioned when I was a kid, whole Asia actually got quite little mentioning.

Here it has been very windy and today it snowed a bit, not much interest going outdoors in such weather, especially as there somehow manages to be quite bit of pollen in air, certainly less than warmer days, but quite bit have been coming from longer distances.

Hopefully next week is warmer, with tight diet moving in cold is not so fun.

Let's see, what did I do this week?

Friday was 90 minutes of yoga and a 20 minute run. Saturday I worked all day, but did about 30 minutes of yoga in the evening. Sunday 1 hour of yoga and 1 hour walking. Monday 90 minutes of yoga and a 25 minute run.

An hour of yoga and a run today too. Met a deer when I was out on my run. She just stepped out of the forest and stood there staring at me for a full 30 seconds, then took off up the trail. They're lovely creatures. Wish I could run like that.

On Wednesday I did an hour of yoga in the morning then rode my bike for 30 minutes.

Thursday 90 minutes of yoga and a 25 minute run. Yesterday 90 minutes of yoga and a 90 minute walk.

I have to work today but I'm hoping to get out for a run later.

I have been trying to do something. I had pretty much given up last week and told Rick we could sell the treadmill. I was done. I was going to just grow old and fat and let it all go. Rick said he'd see how long that would last.

On Tuesday, I started walking every hour again and Tuesday and Wednesday I had 11 of 11 hours with 300+ steps. On Thursday and Friday, I had 11 of 11 hours with 500+ steps. On Friday I hit the treadmill for 1.5 miles in the morning, in addition to 11 of 11 hours with 500+ steps.

Tuesday - 10,832 steps
Wednesday - 10,276 steps
Thursday - 11,403 steps
Friday - 13,262 steps

I think I'll take the weekend off (I don't want to really push it) and start in again on Monday and see how things go. Trying to take it fairly easy, but it's difficult for me not to walk or do something. Knee gives me twinges from time to time, but seems to be OK and foot seems to be fine. :crossfingers: We'll see.

Hello hoomans, looks like you guys are religiously keeping fit! :walk:
Look at all those graph works :wow:

For me, my love is for cycling. It takes me places, help me burn fats, keeps me stamina up and climbing up stairs is not much of a problem for me.

Used to be on a road bike till buddies of mine that I ride with gave up cycling and I ditch the road bike for a mountain bike. So it's off road rides and city rides for me and covering distances up to 130km each ride  minimum twice a week.
