It's been years since I've posted a thread in this subforum, so I figured it's time to finally show off Tango and Indy! :hyper:

Indy is my first black (and white) cat. She'll be turning six in October. She was adopted in February of 2015 as a friend for Squee:rbheart: after Scratch:rbheart: passed away in September 2014.

Indy and her siblings - all black with small amounts of white - had been orphaned at three weeks old and had been in foster care at the humane society, who then placed them in a local pet supply store, which acts as a satellite adoption location.

Let's just say that Squee was not a fan of Indy for the first three weeks, though she eventually learned to like Indy. When Tango came on the scene, though, she was immediately drawn to both Squee and Indy, though Indy tolerated cuddling and playtime more than Squee. But it wasn't uncommon to find all three lying together on the same bed.

Indy's favourite things include: sitting in a cardboard box to watch birds outside, occasionally getting into trouble, sleeping, sitting in a crinkle tube or cube while violently half-jumping out to swat at the Turbo Scratcher or Tower of Tracks toys, cuddling with people by climbing onto their shoulders, and sometimes sleeping on my pillow.

February 2020

Tango is both my first calico? caliby? and my first feral cat. Well, maybe she isn't totally considered a feral cat, as she was trapped at a trailer court at one month old in July of 2016, but she definitely came from an interesting background. She was actually adopted from the same pet store that Indy came from, in October 2016.

They had told us that she "liked older cats," and they definitely weren't wrong. She was cuddling with Indy like they were lifelong best friends only days after she came home. She even took to Squee, who thankfully accepted Tango a lot faster than with Indy.

I had never had three cats before Tango came along, and it sadly lasted only a short time. Squee suddenly passed away in April 2018.

Tango and Indy are still close at ages 5 and 3; in fact, today they spent several hours cuddling together on one end of the couch while I sat on the other end. It's funny; their relationship really reminds me of Scratch and Squee's. Scratch was the older one and the strong, silent one, who was much more friendly with strangers and guests, and Indy is the same way. They even stand with their "heels" together - they're the only two cats I've had who did that.

Squee was the crazy, playful younger one who always initiated cuddling with Scratch, and who loved stealing food off people's plates. That's Tango to a T - pun not intended! And both Squee and Tango were/are the ones who are mostly only cuddly with me.

Tango's favourite things include: begging for boiled peas, scratching her cardboard scratchers, cuddling with Indy, going nuts over Da Bird, hogging toys from Indy, and rolling around with honeysuckle wood.

Indy about three weeks after adoption, February 2015. That ancient, Scratch-era cardboard box is still in the same place, and it's still her favourite box.

Since today is Tango's "estimated" fourth birthday, here's my belated post full of Tango pictures!

This was about six days after she came home. I quickly discovered that she loves to steal people food. Here she's eating a french fry from McDonald's... :rolleyes2: She doesn't steal food off plates like she used to, thankfully, especially now that I know she has food allergies.

LOOK HOW SMALL SHE WAS

The only time I've ever caught her in the bathroom sink. Her paw was out because she enjoys reaching her paw out when I'm near her, then she tries to put her paw on my face so she can gently bite my nose...?

Cuddling with Indy.

This was not long before Squee passed away. :redheartpump: Tango really liked Squee.

My most recent picture of her that's actually worthy of being posted online.

This was when she was just a baby at the humane society.

She makes the funniest faces.

Indy got into some canning spices (specifically turmeric) that were left on the kitchen counter. This was the day I discovered she's obsessed with celery seed. 🤣
