I have a garbage can forager. She ate synthetic sausage casings from out of the trash. The first one came back up, pretty much as eaten; another came up later. Having been exposed to digestive juices, the second one was pretty much like goo. Needless to say, I've done more to secure the kitchen trashcan.

Anybody know if these things can pass through without incident?

If the one she threw up was turning liquid-y then I’d assume they’re probably made from collagen and will just get digested normally

If these were sausage casing that you could have eaten they should be digestible. If they were the ones that you need to remove, like on some salamis, they might be inedible. Maybe google the type of synthetic casing that was on the sausages that you bought?

They were on a summer sausage--the ones you take off and throw away.

She doesn't seem any the worse for the wear at this point. She must have eaten it yesterday, because I found it this morning when I got up (don't ask me how I found it).
