Edit: Sorry today the 10th day since the vet visit not 8.

My kitten is 3 months old and just had cold. His symptoms were eye conjunctivitis and lack of appetite and lack of movements. I took him to vet and they prescribed Amoxicillin antibiotics 1ml two times a day and a cough syrup suppliment 2ml one time a day.

There's an FVP virus outbreak in my city but all of the cats in my block is absolutely fine including his mother cat. And this one was born inside my house and never set a foot outside since then. But the problem is, the vet that I took him to was already dealing with the FPV infected cats. But I made sure this little one don't come in contact with any of the infected one and the vet didn't inject him with anything except using digital thermometer.

After one week of vet visit he got completely healed up and started becoming race car once again and very very aggressive appetite like before.

Here's the problem, hes completely normal yesterday morning but pooped outside the litter box somehow and it was watery diarrhea. I'm not rich I can't afford premium cat foods so I used to feed him wiskas dry food most of the times and boiled fish and chicken sometimes. I didn't feed him anything since tomorrow afternoon as he had diarrhea. During this 7-8 days his poop was completely normal sometimes loose but never watery. Today morning he vomitted tiny amount of clear water. I gave him the dry food but he's already lost his appetite. He's sleeping all the morning and not playful anymore.

Could this be the FPV? Or is this all because I force feed him Amoxicillin through out these days. I'm scared to take him to the vet again, who knows maybe it was the Amoxicillin and taking him to the vet might infect him with the FPV. IMG_20250119_115809.jpg three weeks ago IMG20250119120018.jpg today, the conjunctivitis is almost gone.

Hi. He is adorable.
what is very concerning, is the fact that he is lethargic. Kittens should be play play play, eat, groom, sleep and repeat many times during the day and night.
The vomiting and diarrhea is cause for alarm as well.

Has he been vaccinated ever? No judgment if he hasn’t. It just helps to understand his risk factor.
With dogs, if the vomit, sometimes you need to withhold food for 8 to 12 hours. Not with cats. You never want to with hold food from a cat, even if they vomit.

kittens get dehydrated very quickly from vomiting and diarrhea. Once dehydrated it is a downward spiral unless treated.

I know you said money is tight. I completely understand that. There are things like Care Credit you can apply for. Bit of course payments need to be made, but often not right away, depending on what kind of plan you get.

There are also sometimes organizations that can help with vet bills. If you look on this site there is also information about getting help with vet bills.

From what you are describing, this really is something he needs to see a veterinarian about. If you are worried about him getting something from the other vet hospital, maybe find a different vet to take him to.

Please keep us updated on how he is doing.

It could very well be a reaction to the antibiotic. Try not to force it on him, it causes stress. If it is a liquid, get a lickable treat, such as Churo or Delectable Lickables, and mix it in a small amount of the treat, give the rest after. I get Pill Pockets for cats and tear off a small amount and paste the pill to a treat. Call your vet and see if a pill antibiotic could be crushed to add to a lickable treat. i pray your litlle one is better soon!

After 3 days of DNS saline and antibiotics, anti vomiting injections my cat is hungry again and not that lethargic banging the door for food but for food only.... he's not really playing. I provided him very tiny amount of food 3 times a day but there is a PROBLEM.

Blood in stool. Even after injecting a medicine to stop the bleeding i can see his poop is reddish. It uses to be loose through these days but yesterday he was injected with a med to treat diarrhea. Since then he didn't poop anymore but, today morning i can just one drop of poop which is reddish and tiny amount of blood at the end. Saying again, he's no longer lethargic but what the actual hell is the blood.

I am even more worried now. Can inserting thermometer cause this?

Yes, inserting teh thermometer too far can cause a bleed, the antidiarrheal may have caused some constipation which then starining can cause blood too. Red blood means it is at the end of the colon, in the rectal area or rectum. Upper GI bleeds or stomach bleeding will cause vomiting up coffee ground looking vomit, or black tarry blood from the other end.
