superlong hair

Adopted this 10 year old cat from a sanctuary 2 years ago. Very big, sweet, male, longhaired. Did not notice just how longhaired this cat is. The hair lies down flat but if you pull it straight up it is 4 inches long. It does not tangle at all although I have found a knot a couple of times around his jaw. He loves to be combed and brushed, even on his belly. His color is a variegated gray, ranging from pale gray to almost black, tuxedo.
Has anyone ever seen a cat with fur like that? I would post a pic but this is a new comp and I have not yet figured out how to get the pics from my camera transferred to the comp.

Apparently those pics are on the cloud and it won't let me get them from there, oh rats! on all new comps that don't work the same as the old one. This is the only one I could get and it was taken the day I adopted him and it does not do him credit. His hair is much longer now but as you can see it does lie down, it does not stick up and never tangles.

He is gorgeous He looks a bit like my Zena who is a dh bw tuxedo but with less white. Your guys fur looks like NFC type fur or ragdollish. NFC have very long guard hairs and a furry coat underneath. My Syb in profile pic was part nfc, when she reached her full winter fluff her outer hair was very long. Your guy looks more blue than black to me but maybe it is the light.

You are very lucky his hair does not tangle, both my lonhair kitties had mat issues and did not like brushing/combing etc.
