I have tried most of whats on market...each has its own advantage, but not one can do the job entirely. Us cat owners keep physically fit, by doing "litter pan squats" once a day or more. We have honed our aiming abilities to get that soiled litter in the bag. We really can use expert advice, on the scoop. Thank you and purrs to all!

I order what is called a 13 inch sturdy slotted skimmer spoon for 4.99 on Amazon. UPC code 085455129513. They aren't flimsy and awkward like those big plastic cat litter scoops. I love them and have 4 of them!

I recently bought Tenta Kitchen SS Skimmer Spoon as I needed another one. It works great though the slots are a little wider than I like and small pieces of waste products get through the slots.

I have two very old (over 40 years old) World's Best Cat Litter SS scoops that are similar but the slots are closer together and perfect and get all the bits of used litter.. I couldn't even find pics of the old ones on their website.

BTW, I am using clumping clay litter.

I think it depends on what kind of litter you are using and the size. I have used a lot of different types. Recently switched to a litter that has slightly larger "grains" and so I got a big slotted one that allows it to fall through. I do like a squared off one though as my cats like to go right up against the sides of the box so I have to get into the corners and edges.

Hint...to accomodate wide slots, I put strips of duct tape around edges, tricky, but worth it.
