This is wonderful, thank you!!It will be almost impossible to help her without surgery. They have to see somehow in her mouth to see what is bothering her. As long as she is eating a little that is good. When my Yammy gets so deathly sick from his leukemia, he survives somehow on just a couple of licks of treat a day. Ask your vet about twilight anesthesia, where they don't have to be put under as far, that may be an option. It could have been the kind of anesthesia they used too, try to find out what it was and how much was used. There are many different brands and kinds of anesthesias. Try those lickable treats to see if that would tempt her, they just need to be licked up. I use delectable Lickables in the stew flavors.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. The only cat I had with something like this had oral cancer and prednisone helped a lot. Keep up on the antibiotics, that would help an abscessed tooth. My heart aches for what you two are going through, I know how worrisome this all is. I'll pray for that sweet girl, I pray God will give you a little more time with her. She knows she is loved and that is the best comfort you can give her right now.
We talked at supper and decided that since she DID eat a somewhat decent amount tonight we would hold off on trying the appetitie stimulant just yet, Deb said "if she didn't eat anything for awhile then yes" but she did eat some. And she said she doesn't want to force her to eat if what she is eating is enough for her and that makes sense, maybe what she was eating was too much and we thought the more she eats the better she'll feel faster but that most likely isn't the case. And Simba who is 20 doesn't eat much, a meal a day, maybe some dry food and occasional treats, and Samantha who is our littlest cat doesn't eat much and when she does she usually throws it up and she is doing fine. I think we are doting on her every move too much which is normal I guess....
It is an emotional roller coaster, one minute we feel as if we are saying good bye to her and then 2 minutes later she seems okay. We were just downstairs, Deb to get the laundry out of the dryer and me refilling the hard cat food and I heard the cellar door creak and figured it was the usual suspects and I saw Sylvester and Snickers and then right around the corner was Sugar lol!! She zipped around the other room in the dark so we see that and are amazed!
Thanks again!!
