Chloe is 10 years old, had her since she was a kitten. About two weeks ago she became obsessed with staring at our pantry closet, specifically the bottom of the door and space under the door. She sits on the rug looking at it, then on the chair, then sits real close to the door looking at it. We’ve opened it, taken out everything from the bottom of the closet. She’s not particularly interested in going in there, she goes in for a minute but then comes back out and sits to stare again. No signs of mice or bugs anywhere. She’ll do this all hours of the day and night. Other than that, her behavior is normal, eating, sleeping normal… What is up with my poor kitty?

That usually indicates she hears or sees SOMETHING in there, it may be inside the walls, and you don't hear it. It could be anything, bugs, birds, bat, or the most common, mice. You might consider a trap or Decon inside a box with a small hole (so neighborhood cats don't get hurt), or observing and monitoring the outside wall (or wall on the other side) where the pantry is to see if there is a small hole anywhere or any signs of rodents.

That tubing leading into the wall by way of that hole - I am guessing you have a critter that goes in and out of that place and your cat knows it!

You might want to try a humane mouse trap. It’s a box that the mice can’t get out of once they go in and it will allow you to catch multiple at once. Then you either dispose of them or release them. The nice thing is no danger at all to your cat
