Applied flea treatment was very busy forgot to call Vet

today to ask...How long should one wait before administering Sub Q's again after applying flea treatment?  Normally takes one day for flea treatment to kick in...vet techs said 12 hours would be OK, anyone with experience?

I know I replied to you via PM but replying here too in case anyone else has some input - I've never actually put a flea topical on one of my cats and then did subqs, so honestly not sure. Where did you administer the topical? I would think it might be ok to do it in a different spot after 12 hours. Your kitty has CKD, yes? Making sure I remember correctly. How are her numbers, and is she very dehydrated? I think I personally would hold off a day if my kitty wasn't doing too badly, but I'm also a bit paranoid :)

Thanks Donutte  that's what I did waited one full day couldn't wait any longer,

he's been eating drinking steadily so everything looks seems OK

Yes he's very dehydrated.

I think a little paranoia can be a good thing

*Update*  just sharing...

Apparently there is NO waiting period, as long as the product has dried

on the cat it's perfectly safe to use Sub Q fluids.

- good to know.
