Stuffing, Filling, or Dressing?

I love chestnuts They're such a pain to husk /shell and remove the hairy papery-covering, though I've never had chestnuts in stuffing. It was always roasted separately from stuffing and just eaten as a snack.

We've always called it stuffing. My former husband's family called it dressing, and they have a story about one of the children asking the cooks, "Where are the turkey's clothes?"

Stuffing. My favorite with extra celery. I eat it with roasted potatoes
