Ok, so Merlin who is now back in isolation had already started chewing the door by the cat door in his room. ( formerly my art studio now taken over by cat with runs in isolation )He does not like to be locked in there but there’s no alternative for the moment because he has C. difficile. I spent about 3 to 4 hours covering the door around where the pet door is with panels of poplar thinking he won’t be able to chew this but now he’s chewing that! And it was very painful for me to do. At first I thought he was scratching it with his claws and then I actually saw him chewing it with his teeth and I’m afraid he’s going to break his teeth.
Will plexiglass work or will he be able to chew that as well? I don’t know what to do anymore. On top of that Quinn broke that pet door so I now have it covered with a piece of cardboard on the outside which seems to be working but I’m going to need to get a new door at some point that can be locked properly and that Quinn cannot break. He broke the one on my room too and constantly pushes out the flap. I was thinking of a chip door maybe but anything stronger than these tiny plastic doors would be better and will do- any ideas?
