During the 1st get visits, I had discussed on the steralization.
Vet recommends s the male and female to do seperatly apart.
But she advice the female to spay at 5mths and male around 6.
Bur I read females and males can come to heat as early as 4mths.
Ahe mention that shelters usually do it younger but for home only pets, she advice later mths.
Is she right?

You can spay female cats and neuter male cats when the get to 1 kilo/2 pounds in weight. I definitely recommend getting both male and female kittens sterilized before they are five months old. Female kittens can get pregnant at five months and male kittens can start to spray urine and exhibit other unwanted behavior from about five months onward.

My vet does 4 months for both and I agree that getting them both done by that time is the way to go.

I think it mostly depends on where you live. I have learned that different countries have different schools and ideas.
In the US it seems the vets tend to advice an early sterilization, in Europe the vets say that cats should be at least 6 to 7 months old. So it is possible that your vet follows a different opinion.
