Stashing behavior?

Flora has this weird quirk of stashing things in weird places. When I first got her, I noticed a lot of toys were missing. I ended up finding them in the lining of a couch she would hide in. She's now taken to doing the same thing but in a pop-up cat tent. I caught her trying to steal one of my crochet hooks to bring into her little tent.

It's not a big deal, but I'm curious as to why she does that. Is this a common cat trait?

Bonnie has a habit of doing that too. She will take toys and bring them to under the bed in the guest room. Its kind of funny. I always say she is "taking it to her lair." Noodle and Grey Cat dont do this at all! But then again, they also dont sleep/hide in hole like places.
