Ollie has settled into his room really well. He is sleeping soundly in his cave bed, and runs to the door when I come to visit. He has used the litter box and the scratching post, gone through the tunnel and sniffed a few toys. He is enthusiastically loving, lots of head butts. I have never seen a hungrier cat in my life. He devours his food as soon as I put it down and I am trying to feed four times a day, plus some dry food as snacks. I can’t wait to see what he looks like when he starts to fill out and his coat improves and I hope in time he will feel secure enough to eat like a normal cat.

Hooper is aware of his presence. I found him at the top of the stairs this morning, so that didn’t take long. I can tell he is a little anxious as he has been eating a little less and is spending a lot of time patrolling the house. I am making sure to give him lots of attention.

Ollie has now been inside for four weeks and was neutered one week ago and has made a good recovery. He definitely has some behavior issues/quirks from living outside for who knows how long and while he is pretty secure in his room he is much less sure when out in the house at large. I am feeding 5 small meals a day and he is slowly starting to fill out, though still eats like every meal is his last. He has boundless energy and plays by himself and I am also doing several play sessions a day with him. Certain toys are for supervised play only as he will destroy them. I wonder if he had some kind of throat injury at some point - he has a very tortured sounding meow and sometimes makes no sound at all when he meows. He does have what the vet termed a slight malocclusion of the jaw. He has peed outside the box twice since I brought him in, which I think is behavioral as the incidents were a couple of weeks apart. Every once in a while he will climb into my lap and snuggle for a few minutes, which is nice. I have ordered Feliway diffusers that I hope will calm him down a bit and make introductions a bit easier. I got one for Hooper and he is handling having another cat in the house better than expected, even when Ollie escapes his room and chases Hooper.

Wonderful to hear this that Ollie is settling in well and Hooper is adjusting to Ollie.

As for the hoarse voice, is he eating with ease? Observe him for awhile and if need to be sure that he is ok, bring him to the vet for a check up.

Photos please!

He is definitely eating fine. He regurgitated one time the day he came home from his neuter, but that’s the only time. He may have a slight upper respiratory infection as he has one eye that runs at times, but he is able to tear around for extended periods without getting winded. If anything changes for the worse he will go back to the vet. He has more meow than he did a few weeks ago, it’s just not a normal meow.
