Revolution or Frontline both cause skin and hair irritation.
Anyone else have this experience and found a better product or solution?
Owen is an outdoor cat. We're not in a heavy flea area, but we do have 'em.

It may be that all topical treatments will cause irritation for your cat - after all over 95% of the ingredients are 'inactive' and so there is no requirement by law to list what those are, so they can be 'anything'. Advantage II has never caused any skin irritation on my cat, but it is also relatively ineffective in my area. There are newer ones, such as Bravecto, but I am not endorsing it - or any of the others for that matter. Each of these also contain different active ingredients as well, but given you have an issue with two of the most commonly used ones, I would be willing to bet it might be one of the inactive ingredients.

Talk to your vet to see if some preparatory/preventative treatment might help with the reaction.
