I have several rescue cats. I have had them spayed however they are exhibiting signs of being in heat. I understand that this happens when tissue regrows but what are the chances that this would happen in unrelated cats which have been spayed. Some are even spayed at differenct clinics.

Three female cats are showing these traits, catawauling, butts in the air, overly affectionate, rubbing on everything and everyone, human and animal in the house. They are all spayed.
Are any unneutered tomcats in the house?
How long ago were they spayed? How old are they?
This is a long shot, but does anyone in the house use a progesterone cream? I've heard of those affecting pets and babies.
