Some Alerts Not Appearing

Hello -
For the past month or so, I'm noticing that for some of the threads that I've posted to, when there are posts by other members after that I'm not receiving the alert. Is this a problem for other people?
EDIT --one in particular is this one;

I noticed that too today.

Are you getting any alerts at all for the thread(s) in question? They aren't generated for every new post in a thread. You get one if you're watching a thread, then it covers all the subsequent posts in the thread until you've logged in and read the new posts. Then the process starts anew.

Have you tried "unwatching" the thread in question, then "watching" it again?

I just checked my previous posts and saw I have a couple of responses but no alert. I did get an alert that I was tagged in this thread. I'll try the reset thing as well. Thanks

I got an alert that I was tagged by your post. It seems to be random.

That's what I was thinking, that it is random, which makes it challenging for a software IT coder to deal with LOL (since I live with one ) - I haven't had a good chance to see if the watch-unwatch-watch has had an effect. I will keep better tabs on that, my apologies for not keeping uber good records in the past couple days.

hi! I have tried unwatching then putting watch back on, and that didn't make any difference from what I could see.
I have not changed any of my alert preferences since January 2018.
This is specific to alerts in my case.

A current discussion that I didn't receive an alert that there had been more posts since mine, is the What's for Dinner - 2018. I posted to it at 5:53 PM Saturday, and there was a post after mine, at 6:52PM Saturday, and I didn't get an alert for that.

I posted #4791 to the mega pawsitive fundraiser. I got alerts for purraises for my post, but did not get an alert that segelkatt posted #4792.
I'm receiving alerts for other members' replies to other threads.

Hi again, I just noticed that I didn't get an alert of a post to OP grojo "easy on the stomach and wallet". I posted #28 and didn't get an alert for post #30 or 31.
If this is the way it's supposed to work , because I did get an alert for post #29, then I think things are ok. Thank you for your help!

Yes, if you got an alert for #29, you will not get any more alerts until you visit the thread again.
