Jake and I had been discussing getting a companion for our 16 year old dog, and well, an offer fell into our lap that we couldn't refuse.
A friend and neighbor had an oops litter (she was lied to about the dog being spayed), 8 pups!
She found homes for all but one.
We get pup for Bear and she buys all the dog food we need until we're back on our feet.
Gabriel is perfect for Bear, very puppy, but very mellow. His dad is lab/pit like Bear, and Mom is Border collie/Giant Schnauzer.
One smart pup, he'll be 8 weeks on the 16th, and already housetrained (very few accidents and only over night), knows his name, come, sit and speak.
He loves to be talked to, and because of his eventual size, we are working on not jumping up/clawing and not licking/chewing.
He's doing great!
After he starts his second round of shots I'll start him on leash training and clicker training, he seems to be a very eager to please pup.

He sounds like fun! Great that you could give him a home. I hope you can get some pictures up soon.
