Snuffy is bored with all his toys please help me with some new ideas

I have quite literally spent over 1,000 dollars on toys for this cat and he’s seemingly sick of everything. I could really use some ideas of things others have found to entice their bored-of-everything cats to play again. And yes I actively try to play with him and have as long as I’ve had him I don’t expect him to play on his own.

Here is a list of things he’s already bored of:
- Da Bird (this lasted years but he’s finally completely done no matter what I do with it)
- Other toys similar to da Bird
- Laser pointer
- Ribbona of varying lengths and colors attached to different things
- Mouse on a wire (wire goes all over the place)
- Toys like little balls or mice he never has liked
- Butterfly flying machine thing
- Mouse rotating randomly under a plastic thing
- feather toys
- playing with toys under Christmas paper
- that’s the main things I can think of now.

Any ideas? He’s 11 maybe just slowing down? I don’t know

He may just be slowing down at his age. When was his last senior checkup (yes, he now qualifies as a senior)?

Videos of birds/squirrels could be something else to try. Does he have cat trees/window perches, preferably with a bird feeder outside to look at? I know ideas like this are more 'mental' stimulation, but they are better than nothing. What about really basic stuff, like toilet/paper towels rolls, crumpled up paper or foil, large caps from bottles, and so on? Perhaps, even old shoe strings?

When he's not playing, is he acting restless or getting into everything? If not, he might just be settling down and not need to play as much. My 9 year old cat is/was the most playful cat I've had in a long time, but even she is less playful at 9 than she was at 4. I still keep toys out for her and she plays with them often but nothing like she used to.
Do you rotate toys, or leave them out?

The favorites for my cats are springs, little crinkle balls and little fuzzy balls small enough to carry in their mouth, the fuzzy worm thing on a fishing rod wand, that rechargeable fish that flops around, plastic drinking straws, a cat tunnel, large sheets of packing paper, cardboard boxes, and that toy that is like a little tower with three tracks and three balls that they swipe at. I don’t have all these things out at once, I rotate things.

No he doesn’t act restless or anything - in general he’s just become a bit lazier and less interested in playing it seems.

He was just at the vet last week and everything is good health wise just has his ongoing IBD but it’s under control. I got him going last night with Da Bird again I just had to do a really different action with it than I had before. I don’t leave toys out I keep them in the closet. He doesn’t seem to care at all for things like bottle caps and so forth anymore.Years ago he would play with them or chase them if I threw them.

I haven’t thought about a bird feeder that’s a good idea. He does have a cat tree and windows to look out of. I’ll check out that link also thanks

Our present cat loves the paper shopping bags you get at the grocery store. I even put toys in them to get his attention, e.g. small balls with a bell inside or crinkled up tin foil. This TCS Article may have some great ideas and helpful information for you:

Some more suggestions: the ubiquitous catnip banana; ping pong balls (I bought a colorful bag of them on Amazon and roll them toward my cat who tries to catch them or bat them away like a goalie); crinkle mat (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082SWSYRX/?tag=thecatsite). My cat is 10.

Ping pong balls are a huge hit with my cats at work. We've gotten some good tennis matches going!
My cats like tennis balls, they can hook it with their claws and they flop down and kick the crap out of them with their back feet, it's hilarious.
