Hi, my cat seems to make loud snorts, grunts, etc. as he eats/drinks. Also some nites a wheeze as he lays/sleeps. Wondering (since he's FiV pos.) could the possible URI he's fought a longtime be causing it here in humidity? I hope he's not laboring breathing.

Unsure tho re this, as he eats & sleeps ok. The 2x at vet, Dec. '19 & July '20 has shown no evidence on vet's end re this. Maybe they (tho he was kept both times overnite) missed it or didn't catch it if he didn't do it in arid AZ.

Ok, TY for any idea here.

Hi. There is a possibility that the humidity could impact him, but could it also be the move that has affected him as well? Stress, as I understand it can bring on respiratory issues in an FIV+ cat.. You might consider buying a dehumidifier and see if that helps any - it certainly shouldn't hurt anything!

TY! Yes all these factors can come in.

Humidity is so new to him but we lived in it all our lives other than past decade or so. Now our other girl seems breathing fine, as she also was born a desert AZ cat as was he. I know vet said in Dec. that he has URI & gave Covenia then. I now object to it but wasn't asked re it back then.

He may have this URI going on yet, as hard to fight as was a feral w/ FiV when in the wild til July of 2020. Now he's indoor for life unless he leaves, haha, hope not.
