When do cats usually stop growing? My cat is 8 months old and has been 4.5 lbs for the last 3 months. This seems awful small for a cat and even for her breed. She's a tonkinese which aren't known to be large cats but aren't usually this tiny either. Her mother was 6.5 lbs. I've asked my vet about it and she seems to think she is just going to be little. She eats good and is really active so maybe she's just meant to be small!

It kind of depends on the breed. Most domestic cats quit growing at about a year or year and a half. Some cats dont stop growing till they are 5 years. Tonks arent very large cats but 6.5lbs seems a bit tiny to me. Most of the ones I have meet are about 10lbs. It would seem it is just in the genes. If she is healthy and playful, I would just assume she is going to be on the small side.
