just wanted to add, I sometimes buy the pork meatloaf version of S.nourish  (no chicken, fish, dairy, only oatmeal and barley for grains) carrageenan may still be a factor though.. they use egg whites instead of egg product ( not sure if that's better for allergies hmm..) but it's pretty affordable..

also wanted to point out for those who dry simply nourish has a a grain free cat food that you can get for  about $15.00  (on sale ) I think 18.00 otherwise  for a  6lb bag of either chicken (no fish or eggs in that one)  or salmon (chicken or eggs  for those with poultry allergies).. also wanted to point out authority has a grain free dry cat food  4lbs for $12.00 ( beet pulp might be an issue and salmon oil for those with allergies note) but good for a limited diet..

and finally about Regional red ..  how's that going for ya bonepicker? I'm surprised to see Wild Boar finally make into cat food I might consider buying the treats which I believe are just Beef, Lamb, and Boar ( no fish in that one)..
My dogs and cats love regional red, I bought the dog food and caught the cats eating it. So I feed as treat only to both dogs and cats along with dog Purebites. You get more bang for your buck with dog treats and food.

Nutro Mike, I am interested in the brand. Simply Nourish exclusive to Petsmart. I tried emailing again and think it went through. My question is who is the manufacturer of this food , I doubt petsmart has its own food plant . It is not labeled anywhere on the bags and petsmart site does not say either.
I would like to know what info you could get, sounds like you know your cat foods / nutrition etc.
What kind of quality does Nutro Make ? curious if your company has specialty foods. Appreciate your checking out the Simply Nourish brand. Thank you
hi i saw in 2012 u were using simply nourish a petsmart brand are u still feeding it. i purchased the rabbit grain free. purina with using china now as lmst killed my ragdoll. is it still good for you

Hi, I am a pet food nutrition specialist for Nutro and when it's slow in the store I read the labels on competitor brands.  I like the content of the food but have a problem with where it is manufactured.  Please notice it says distributed by not where it is manufactured.  If it were made or processed in the U.S.A the label would proudly display that.  Melissa

the simply nourish wet food cans says product of Thailand. someone posted the country had good standards but i took it all back he did not like it. i have 5 different products with 5 different flavors. wellness natl balance etc. he likes the blue spa tuna. question? does anyone trust purina wet food right now. he was eating that 6 years till he fell sick. he still craves the saucy seafood bake. i am scared to feed it to him.

I've had the same thing happen to my bags of Simply Nourish.  I was feeding my elderly cats the senior formula with turkey or chicken and rice.  Well I found out the rice is rice meal so it's like a powder.  I switched to the Simply Nourish no grain Source for adults and just give my cats a glucosamine treat.  It's about the only difference between a senior and adult formula.  Much better.  Stay away from rice formulas it's more than likely to be "rice meal" in other words paste.

My 3 indoor cats love the Chicken and Duck Stew. It also has a good nutritional profile and is grain free. I don't worry about tomato pomace, since most wet cat foods add some sort of carb. I am also not alarmed about this product being processed in Thailand. Many American pet food processing plants are suspect. I like the paper sleeve because I can actually read the ingredients and nutritional analysis. The packaging may be overkill, but the contents inside are worth the additional expense. I would highly recommend this brand and flavor as part of a rotation diet.

Many expensive, premium wet cat foods are processed in Thailand. Do you actually trust human food standards in the USA? Think about it!

My cat started eating Simply Nourish cat food from Pet Smart one month ago and lost half her body weight in just a few weeks and looked like a skeleton.  Sure it tastes good, but she was not getting any nutrition from it and was wasting away. I took her off it and put her back on Science Diet and she is gaining her weight back again and looks good.  This Simply Nourish cat food was not good for her at all.

And as far as coming from Thailand, I read recently that China exports many things to Thailand that we will no longer buy from them and then Thailand sells it to us.  Anyway, no one knows what is in pet food.  They could put anything in there.  Just because it is labeled does not mean that is what you are getting.  There is a new book out "Dead Pets don't Lie" about how our euthanized pets are routinely turned into dog and cat food.  So if we do that here in the USA you can imagine what is being put into their food in China and Thailand.  My dog has never eaten pet food.  He eats what I eat and is healthy as can be.  Pet food was created and sold to the public because they did not know what to do with the waste products from the meat industry.  You are better off feeding your pet what you eat unless it is something that all dogs and cats would be allergic to.

My three cats have been eating Simply Nourish canned chicken and duck stew for their breakfast meal for 9 months. They have experienced no harmful symptoms. Their canned supper meals are rotated and I supplement with 3 high protein dry foods. One of which is Simply Nourish Source Rabbit and Chicken.I have read that it's dangerous to prepare your own pet food if you don't strictly follow the formulas for correct supplementation. Human food and pet food have become huge issues.

I have been feeding my 21 year old and 5 year old females Simply Nourish cat food for many years..........the tuna/potato; chicken/duck and a salmon mix.  They seem to enjoy it but not as a steady diet. Like many cats they are very fussy and prefer a  variety  of foods.
