Simply Nourish cat food , new for my cats

i am wondering if anyone has or is using this brand " Simply Nourish" . I was using EVO grain free but the cat with digestive issues did not like it and it's so expensive. My cats are , 8yrs old , and a 4. Month kitten. They are all boys and I heard that the EVO has a lot ( too much ) of protein that can cause kidney issues to male cats , it's 50% protein and Simply Nourish is 36% . Love to know if anyone is familiar with this SN.

My cat's main diet is Nutro Max and Nutro Natural Choice. I do mix up their wet meals with different brands in order to give them different flavors and textures. I do not have a lot of experience with SN. I have fed their grain free twice to my cats and they seemed to like it. I believe SN is Petsmart's brand but I might be wrong on that one. I have not investigated the food enough to know for sure.

The ingredient list is pretty good but like I said; I have very little experience with it.

I bought a couple of the cans of Simply Nourish--chicken stew and chicken & duck stew.  It has shreds of chicken in it, it looks like something I would eat!  One of my cats liked it, the other doesn't care for "people-like" foods like that.  The day I was in there, a lady was giving out coupons for buy one get one free, so I got them for $ .50 apiece.  My favorite part was that they come with re-usable plastic lids that fit almost any other 3 oz can, so those alone were worth it!  I have no experience with the dry, but looking at the chicken and rice one, it looks decent if you're not wanting to go the grain-free route. It doesn't have corn, soy, or wheat, so that's good.

Is, you are right it is exclusive to petsmart. I went to their site and drove myself crazy trying to contact them via email , it just wouldn't cooperate. So will try Sunday . My picky cats loved it .

I have had all of my kitties on Simply Nourish Chicken & Rice for about a year now and they have thrived on it.  My understanding is that it is Petsmart's "Blue Buffalo" brand.  I too had mine on Evo and they gained a tremendous amount of weight.  I would definitely recommend Simply Nourish.

Hi 3 Cat Night Yes, I work for Nutro. Are you trying to find the manufacturer of Nutro or Simply Nourish? Nutro manufactures their own food in their own plants. There are no co packers with Nutro. If it's Simply Nourish you're looking for regarding the manufacturer, I can find out for you. Like I said, I've never really researched the brand but I can certainly find out for you. Let me know.

You have me giving this food a second look for my kitties.  Dry is a VERY small part of their diet, but this is slightly cheaper than the California Natural I'm currently using, and ingredients look good.  I'm curious as to what you guys find out about who manufactures it.  I actually sent them an email myself, also, because I am curious what the carb content is, and if "natural flavor" means MSG. I saw in another forum someone mentioned it being manufactured in Utah, but that's all...

I got a email from them and they did not answer my questions , just repeated how I can be helped by calling or emailing them, gee, isn't that what I did ? Will try again Monday. Glad you are asking for info , let us know what you found out. I wish I could include the email they sent back to me.

Cats, as obligate carnivores are designed by nature to eat a high meat protein moisture rich diet. A high meat protein diet ( via canned or raw food) will not cause kidney issues with male cats or female cats, it is what they are supposed to eat. It's an all DRY diet that can cause kidney issues and urinary tract problems in cats.

I got a reply email from simply nourish and it said that their department (customer service ) does not have that kind of information and some mention of Utah , and they don't know about Natural flavor , all they know is their food passes the FDA . Really poor customer service ? This makes me a little nervous , what company is unable to verify information that their customers are entitled to???
Nutro mike, any luck? I mean I am trying to provide a healthy ,natural food for my cats so I think this kind of Info is important. Not sure what Im going to do, maybe another call.

Ha ha, I got an email back as well.  All they said was it was made in the USA, and if I still needed the other info, I should reply with the specific formula I'm interested in, my address, and the Petsmart location that I shop at, and that the questions would be submitted to another department or something.  This makes me feel like they're probably going to dance around the questions and just try to send me coupons or something.  So we'll see.....    I just feel like if they expect me to buy their product, then I have a right to know this info.

krysta, I just emailed the FDA / pet food & medicine dept. Explaining the inability to get answers about several topics. I am hoping they will provide a list or something verifying who does in fact make this food. You know , if it were not so LOVED by my kitties and so reasonably priced I would mark this brand off the list in a heartbeat and like yourself , what the $&@& is their reluctance to take our money? Now that I have a vested Interest , look out petsmart or should I say "pet not so smart" . Ha ha ha ha. I will keep you informed.

I have made a call to the petsmart consumer dept and they said they would send my request for Manuf to the corporate offices and I should hear back in. 5. To 7 days. Also FDA sent a list of all companies that have had recalls. Simply nourish was not on it thankfully but I was surprised to see how many other brands were.
I also heard from a manufacturer in Utah , that produces pet food , they have a brand called Atta Cat ( bad ingred) and they also Manuf food for other companies .
The name is American Nutrition out of Ogden , Utah. It went on to say that when they co- produce it is proprietary and they cannot reveal the brands or what sub
Company they are contracted with. Can you believe all this for a simple but important question? I will keep you all posted should I actually get an answer. Ha ha

The dry has tomato pomace in it as well.  I'm not really sure how what to think about tomatoes in cat food, it's confusing.  Potatoes, too. LOTS of premium foods have those ingredients nowadays. Seems like practically every food I look at has SOME ingredient in it that I question. I dunno, I guess I'm going to stick with my California Natural-- the ingredient list is really simple, there's really nothing I worry about at all in it.  If I switch, it will probably be to Costco's Kirkland Signature, which has an ingredient list almost identical to Cal. Natural but is super affordable, like $16 for 25 lbs.  I fed it to my last cat for many years with no problems at all.  But like I said earlier, dry is a really small part of my kitties' diet anyway, they eat mostly raw.
