I'm not a big saver and I worry that my cat may get sick. My last vet bill was over $700. Thoughts from our feline-loving families. Thanks.
I have insurance for both my girls (aged 2 & 3), who are thankfully healthy. I got the insurance because I am also not a big saver & if paying $75 a mth will alleviate some of that anxiety for me, it’s worth it.
Who do you have your insc with?I got insurance on my cat when he was a kitten....I pay around 46.00 (Canadian) he is covered for $5000.00 per incident per year (so can have multiple claims)...he is seven so I'm hoping its adequate coverage....maybe when he is a bit older I may bump it up. It just gives me a good feeling knowing that its there if I ever need it.
They also cover medications, imaging such as xrays, ultrasound, cancer treatment, dental, and much more.
Its called Pet Secure.....haven't had to use it yet thank goodness....but it gives me peace of mindWho do you have your insc with?
Oh thanks, I'll check it out. With the way things are in the world I need the peace of mind knowing if something should happen with Gypsy any decisions can be made without worrying so much about the money. Its called Pet Secure.....haven't had to use it yet thank goodness....but it gives me peace of mind
You can also get unlimited with Pet Secure.....I think once Tim turns ten I will probably up his coverage to unlimited....until he was 5, I only had $1000, but bumped it up to the $5000 plan....I have a fairly well paying stable government job ( 20 years as a CO and essential services) so even with the pandemic I'm one of the lucky ones.....but the insurance is nice to have.....because if my cat ever needed anything medical I would not spare any expenses....just love the little guy so much....they will even cover kennel costs if I had to be hospitalized and had nobody to look after himHave you looked into Trupanion? They don't have per incident or annual limits. This is fantastic! Because both bills they paid for me were double the $5000 per incident limit that Pet Secure has.
I didn't even think of kennel costs that's a good thing to have. You can also get unlimited with Pet Secure.....I think once Tim turns ten I will probably up his coverage to unlimited....until he was 5, I only had $1000, but bumped it up to the $5000 plan....I have a fairly well paying stable government job ( 20 years as a CO and essential services) so even with the pandemic I'm one of the lucky ones.....but the insurance is nice to have.....because if my cat ever needed anything medical I would not spare any expenses....just love the little guy so much....they will even cover kennel costs if I had to be hospitalized and had nobody to look after him View attachment 358437
