Well thus month is being horrible for my cat. My vet is out of town from a family emergency and they moved her appointment on the 24th. Does anyone know if joint supplements will help until I find a vet to see her?

There is nothing that you can give her that will make that much of a difference in just a week to 9 days. Most joint supplements need to be taken for at least a few weeks to start seeing any results. You can try giving her Cosequin or Dasuquin. There are vet stores that carry one or both. You could order it online, but I don't know how many days it would take to get shipped/delivered to you.

Is there no one else in your vet's office, such as a vet tech that could give her the shot in lieu of your vet?

No not really . I called someone but they will have to see her and needs to be vaccinated and she's due for vaccines. Never knew how hard it is to take care of a senior cat. I never had a cat this long. Most of mine either got road kill and family would get rid of my cats when I was young. They didn't like indoors.

Since I got 2 cats that I protected are indoor cats. One died from intestinal lymphoma cancer in 2018. But I'm hoping my 2nd vet calls back

I have no luck getting in vets . 😑
Should I skip miralax again? My cat seems to have pooped alot today. She didn't ate well in afternoon because of it.
I wonder if she has bowel movements discomfort and how long it should last.

She pooped, so no, don't give her Miralax today. If you have continued to give it to her even though she is pooping more regularly, that could cause discomfort in and of itself.

I stopped when I was sort of mushy
So could she have discomfort because of it?

You seemed to think that she was in discomfort before, perhaps from the constipation. Now she is still appearing to have discomfort, so maybe it has nothing to do with her poop.

Well I had to take mirakax before and if it feels the same as me the bowel movement discomfort was awful because I had to go all the time . This was when I did a colonscopy

That was because they gave you a whole lot more Miralax than what would be given to a human normally, due to the need to clear your colon completely and quickly. That is where the discomfort came from.

Im worried I don't know if my cat has a uti or if it's constipation or if her hips are in pain that it's difficult to release stools or urine. The er vet is closed because of weather. It's the only closest one. I have no idea what to do . I feel like I have the worse luck this month.

I wish I knew how I could prevent all this for her . I give her methigel daily since she's stubborn on vet diet

I hope so it's struggling when er vets ate far away and icy roads are happening. I hope it's not serious. She's peeing so much though so I guess no stones? I wiped her urine to see if I see anything pinkish but so far nothing . Maybe it's a stool problem because i saw tiny stools

It seems to be ckd issue. I went and bought special litter to be sure . No uti it seems. Does kidneys make it seem like more urine output or what ? I know nothing about ckd or how do I know when it gets bad. My cat is to stubborn on prescription food so I have no idea how long it takes to get worse.

Urine output can increase with CKD cats, but not always. How fast it progresses is pretty much dependent on the cat. Signs of progressing CKD are lack of appetite, nausea, dehydration (which can result in constipation, but not always), and lethargy. Most CKD cats end up on an appetite stimulant, ant-nausea meds, sub-Q fluids, and anything else that helps with whatever symptoms they are experiencing. There is no 'playbook' that can apply to all CKD cats. And, prescription foods are not the end-all-be-all. They offer little assistance, and are often rejected by cats.

As I suggested to you before, despite its massiveness, Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Disease - Everything You Need to Know to Help Your Cat, is the best way to start to learn about CKD.

I took her to another vet. It was an infection. Are there supplements to keep infection away? She got an antibiotics shot but because of her ckd she can't get anything for pain 😭

I didn't say I knew any that were definitively not an issue with cats who have CKD, I merely meant that vets have been known to give CKD cats pain meds regardless, because some are probably less bothersome than others to CKD cats, and many vets feel as if remedying pain is a good enough reason to give them even if they aren't the best for CKD cats. If your vets don't want to do it, then they don't want to do it, and it won't matter what ones I would suggest to you. Does the vet feel she is in pain?

Although there can be different reasons for why cats get UTIs, one of the reasons is due to bacterial build up in the bladder. Pure D-Mannose is a supplement that helps flush certain bacteria (not all, but many) out of the bladder so that it doesn't accumulate/colonize which can lead to a UTI. The biggest help for any kind of UTI is keeping the bladder flushed by getting your cat to eat wet food only and drink plenty of water.

CKD cats can be prone to UTIs, and in many cases, when their kidney numbers warrant it, they are put on sub-Q fluids to help flush out the kidneys and bladder.

This all goes back to what has been discussed with you throughout this thread - having a detailed discussion with your vet so you can better understand what you can do to help Candie. Understanding test results, which your vet should explain to you, and what their recommendations are for a treatment plan.
