I finished my crochet basket this morning. The photo in the bottom left corner is before I added the straps. It's called a shell edge I think? Anyway, it was a nice finishing touch. I got a scindapsus pictus argyraeus (satin pothos) to put in it. The size turned out to be perfect for my starter planters.

W WillowMarie - Every time I go to the store and I see succulents now, I think of you. Still tempted to give them another shot lol. But I'd like to try my hand at orchids.
Awwww! :hugs:  You know, there is this thing called proplifting, if you are interested, but aren't ready to buy. It is when people find leaves that succulents dropped on the floor of stores. (Only recommended at big box/chains because smaller nurseries may use them for propagating more stock.) It is advised to ask an associate before taking any and from what I've heard, it is normally A-okay with store workers. It is like you are helping them out, cleaning fallen leaves off the floor that they would have to swept and tossed in the garbage. ;) Just saying... ;)

When and if you are ready to try succulents, know there are some kinds that are toxic to pets, so if they will be kept within a pets reach only get nontoxic, just in case. Or if you have a separate room to keep them in like me right now or other means to keep out of reach from pets, go crazy and get any!

Orchids do seem like they would be a really fun plant for you to try. I'm excited to see what kinds you end up getting when you are able to get some!

Funny store. My bestie that has covid I check in with every couple of days to make sure she is still alive and see how she is feeling. She hadn't replied to my message within a day or two, which isn't unusual for her, but still made me slightly anxious. Then, without hearing from her yet, I received an invite from her for a "$10 or cheaper plant group" for people selling plants $10 or cheaper. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Guess she is still alive and well!

That's a great idea! I'll try to see if I can find any fallen leaves next time I go out to Walmart or HomeDepot.

Luckily, all my plants are up high so none of the animals can reach them.

There is a store downtown having a clearance sale on them right now. $5 for 1 orchid. I might have to go there and see what I can get.

Some updates.

This one is growing very well. Keeping him in shade has really helped to spark growth.

Some new leaves on two of the propagates since potting. <3

Two plants kept in different conditions. One following the sun with about 5-6 hours of full sun and one with only about 2 hours of full sun. This guy seems to like the less direct sun conditions. The greener, bushier one is the shadier one. Two different angles below showcasing both plants in each picture. May repot the crassulla out because those do well in brighter sun, I believe.

If the weather is still ok later this morning, I'll take a trip after the dentist appointment to the garden center. Thunderstorms are expected today ⛈ I want to see if the garden center has any Pilea plants. There were none when I went last time. I'll check out the air plants and succulents too. I need more cat grass seeds too.

The aglaonema maria in my aquarium is going to flower! It hasn't flowered in years. It's root system is doing so well in the tank.

Forgot to say that the little aglaonema has a third leaf coming up. I forgot how old it is but I think it's approaching 2 years? I wish I had wrote down when I planted it. The little thing sticking out between the two leaves is where the new leaf is coming up.

I bought a succulent garden and a heart shaped succulent and a bag of moss to prop up the large air plant in the cat pot:

One of the garden succulent leaves broke :frown:

I was tempted to get one of the fish bone cacti but they weren't in the best condition.

No cat grass seeds. The display was out of it. I'll have to buy some online.

No Pilea again :sigh: No African Violets or other small flowering plants either. The selection was either succulents and cacti of various types and sizes or ferns and other green leaved plants like ZZ plant and snake plant and the air plants.

Maybe they'll have them later in the season or maybe they had them earlier on. I noticed that they usually display certain types of plants in shifts month by month. Not sure if that is the same where you are. Usually, if you see something you like, if you go back even a week or so later, it's not guaranteed that it'll be there.

LTS3 LTS3 These garden center picture made my day! :heartshape:

No idea what this pineapple-like plant is:
Isn't this plant crazy?? It blew my mind when someone posted this in a succulent group. Really?? Pineapples grow like this?? Total and utter mind blown. Apparently, they are considered a succulent plant, too.

All of those succulents look gorgeous. Nice variety, too. Haven't seen many of them before, like the fishbone cactus. What is that heart one? It is so unique. And those air plants, wow!

What a nice arrangement you bought <3 Some look very familiar to me! Aw, broken leaves happen. Succulents are tough though! Sure it will be just fine :)

I need to find a garden center like that. . .or maybe it's better if I don't, lol.
Very, very dangerous, but so so tempting... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The heart one is a Hoya kerri, commonly called Sweetheart Wax. Hoya kerrii (Sweetheart Hoya) | World of Succulents

The Fish Bone cactus is interesting :agree: If the plants were in better condition or I had a greener thumb, I would have bought one.

Should I attempt to grow the broken leaf into a new plant W WillowMarie ?

True. I have pictures of the garden center from June of last year and there was a lot of Pilea plants. Top two shelves:

Aww man. Not like Walmart cares. Oh well.

My problem cases are hanging in there. I'm pretty sure the green one is making a new baby leaf:
20200723_193605.jpg

The pink one might be growing more baby leaves, I should count them to see if there are any new ones. I noticed it's looking wrinkly so I'll water it now:
20200723_193615.jpg

And I walked through the plant section at Walmart again. . .looks kind of iffy, I'm going to repot it now:

I need to get another sturdy plastic bin for my new plants to sit in so they're not leaving dirt around. I like these ones from Target: Frosted Drawer 6"x6" - Made By Design™ I'm using very flimsy plastic trays at the moment. I'll go Monday if I'm not asked to work. This Target doesn't have a garden section with plants so I won't be buying more plants ;)
