Too funny  Reminds me of the time my mom sent a friend a holiday card and the friend sent the exact same card to my mom  Please post pictures when you have decided on what plants to put in the new pots :)

My new grow lamp and three hopefully happy plants under it:

My mini orchid has a "mitten" on the end of the spike which means it will bloom again soon:

The mini orchid and Pilea are re-potted.

20220408_070658[1].jpg

I had a 2.5 inch pot meant for the orchid but the root ball was so long that the top of the plant was above the pot rim. Plus I couldn't figure out how to pack the chunky orchid potting mix in around the plant since there wasn't a lot of space in the tiny pot. So mini orchid went into the 3.5 inch pot meant for the Pilea. Fortunately it still fits into it's decorative cache pot. Pilea went into a 4 inch pot which hopefully will fit into it's decorative cat cache pot :crossfingers: I'll find out on Monday when I bring the plants back to work. The mini African Violet still needs to be re-potted but I need a new bigger pot for it. I need a 3 inch pot for that but it won't fit into the owl cache pot so I'll need to either get a whole new 3 inch pot with a drainage hole or a bigger cache pot. Time for a trip to the garden center:biggrin:

I don't like how the plastic pot sticks over the top of the cat planter :ohwell: Maybe the Pilea will grow bigger soon and spill out over the top more to hide the pot.

The garden center is getting busy:

Lots of lithops today:

I wound up buying two air plants, a Teneli succulent that I had been wanting for awhile, and two pots. One air plant and the smaller round pot (for my mini African Violet) are for work so I'll get reimbursed for that as part of my desk personalization allotment. I'm going to re-pot the Teneli into the bigger pot and keep it at home.

The Teneli re-potted. I'm a little worried about the one on the left because it's pretty limp and therefore leaning over. I gave it a good watering so hopefully that will perk up the plant soon:crossfingers:

Look at all those colorful lithops!!

Oh my, who designed those enclosed succulent arrangements? That's a recipe for disaster...

Nice new plants! Love how you get reimbursed to buy plants for your desk at work. :)

The terrariums? They look neat but the enclosed ones aren't great. I used to have one but had to get rid of it because it was a breeding ground for teeny black flies that managed to squeeze out from under the rubber seal of the clamp on lid.

Works allows $100 a year for desk personalization. Some people buy actual desk organization stuff and the like. I did that last year to get my desk set up. This year the money is for plant stuff

New plants!

I have no idea what the bonus mystery plant is, a type of echeveria?

The plants got a good watering as soon as I unpacked them. The Teddy Bear succulent doesn't have a lot of potting mix in the pot because a good deal fell out and into the shipping box during rough transit. And a leaf broke off but I stuck it into the Frizzle Sizzle pot for now and maybe it will turn into a new plant :crossfingers: The box was labeled with "This End Up" arrows and "Fragile - Handle With Care" but obviously USPS doesn't care :bat: No matter. The plants will be re-potted into Bonsai Jack when they dry out a bit. In the meantime I can buy more pots at the garden center

Frizzle sizzle! That's a plant on my wish list. I have a whale planter that would look so cute with it in it. Seen pictures of others with same planters and the plant looks like water spouting out of the whale!

I'm going to the garden center after work next Saturday to find pots to put my new additions into. I'm hoping to find these: Liberte 3.25 I have the same pot in a discontinued pattern for my heart shaped Hoya. I found the pot at the same garden center a few years ago. I'll buy the pots online if I have to.

I scored two pots and a succulent at the garden center today

A Bear's Paw in it's new pot:

The bonus mystery succulent in it's new pot:

20220507_104546_Burst01[1].jpg

The garden center really didn't have any other good small pots with drainage that I could use for my Frizzle Sizzle and Teddy Bear succulents :disappointed: A lot of cache pots, though. I'll buy two pots from Chive.com for them.

The Teneli succulent is leaning less now:

The only other thing I have growing is a paper cup of cat grass for Leroy, sort of visible on the left in the picture above.

You all have gotten me inspired. I bought a whale pot this morning and a frizzle sizzle to go in it. Also ordered a string of pearls, which I would love to grow on a shelf, but haven't had any success with it yet.

Most of what I have are Pothos/Devils Ivy, both in soil/pots and hydroponically - in just water including a couple of fish tanks :)

But these are so fun :lovecat2:

Marimo, and bamboo (actually called dracaena) When not placed for picture taking, it's out of Poppy's reach.

W WillowMarie

I'd love a trailing plant like String of Pearls or String of Dolphins but those are too tempting for my cats even if placed on a high shelf.

DreamerRose DreamerRose please share a picture of your whale pot and Frizzle Sizzle 🌱

My Frizzle Sizzle has grown a bit since I got it and it's not so curly anymore. I'm hoping my new pots will arrive soon so I can re-pot it.

My co-worker and I were talking about marimo balls not long ago. It seems like a good desk plant.

Bird's eye view of my plants:

Top: Teddy Bear, Frizzle Sizzle, Hoya kerri, Bear's paw
Middle right: mystery succulent, air plant
Bottom: String of Buttons, cat grass,Teneli

Not shown, my hanging octopus holder with an air plant for "legs".

LTS3 LTS3 - The pot and frizzle sizzle haven't arrived yet, and I understand the frizzle is going dormant at this time of year in the northern hemisphere, so it will probably be next winter before it looks like anything. (If I can keep it alive.) According to what I read this morning, the frizzle has to be in full sunlight for its leaves to curl. Yours may be on the way to dormancy, too. It comes to life in the fall.

I have an orchid that is past its peak but has been spectacular. I will try to get a pic of it in the meantime.

In case you're not familiar and for anyone who's interested;
Marimo prefer cooler temperatures (--as opposed to the upper 70's/low 80's for Betta fish so even though they're sometimes sold as tank "mates" for Betta, they dislike the environment and don't provide a thing for the fish),

need a very light fertilizer infrequently (maybe once every couple months or when I think of it, for mine),

and absolutely require/demand indirect light. One of mine became unhappy with just a few minutes of direct sunlight for two or three days until I saw what was happening and moved the vase.

They can be interesting to watch. I have one, sometimes two that do the rise to the surface and sink back down after a time, but I can't pin down what the optimum conditions are for the occurrence :)

Still waiting on my Chive pots :ohwell: I ordered them on May 8 and apparently the company only ships on Fridays. So it should have been shipped yesterday. But the tracking number still says "awaiting item". I emailed customer service and didn't get a very helpful answer, just a vague "if it made the shipment yesterday, the tracking number should be updated on Monday" :rolleyes3: I did find the pots on Amazon, sold by a third party, but the set of 3 pots was more expensive than if I had bought directly from the company.

Happy work plants:
