Can anyone recommend a brand of shampoo for cats?

Mooch (19 1/2 with arthritis and glaucoma) has been needing extra help with grooming and some bouts of diarrhea and UTIs (a whole different topic…just finished a round of meds). I ordered pet wipes but came home to find her sitting in her deeper litter box like she couldn’t get back out. She gave us a piece of her mind for not being here to rescue her!! Soo…back end bath it was. We had baby shampoo on hand for today. Dawn changed their scent so I’m hesitant to try that. Id rather have something on hand.

Any suggestions?

My criteria for cat shampoos are it's labeled specifically for cats, and it's as free of scent as possible. Earth bath makes a really good cat shampoo that is hypoallergenic, and Burt's Bee's does as well. I haven't used Espree in a long time, but IIRC they make a cat shampoo.
As a side note, I HATE the new Dawn scent!! I've used Dawn on my dishes for years but am going to switch brands because I think it smells horrible.
I hope Mooch feels better soon. :hugs:

Dr, Bronner's Baby Mild Pure Castile Soap.

It is, literally, organic soap made from saponified hemp oil. It has no colors, dyes, perfumes or anything that isn't soap like the way Great Grandma used to make it, way back in the day. Just make sure you rinse, really well, to get all of the soap out. We should be doing that, anyway. Right? :)

Many people buy Dr. Bronner because it's organic and all that but I like it because it's just good soap that isn't full of crap I don't want.

I have a chronic skin rash that makes me feel itchy if I use soap or shampoo that has perfume and stuff in it. I can't use fabric softener on my clothes and I also have to use laundry detergent without dyes or perfumes.

Dr. Bronner's is one of the few that don't aggravate my skin condition. I figure, if it's good enough for me with my skin condition, it's good enough for my cats. Since we don't give baths to our cats very often... maybe once a year, if that... I don't feel the need to buy special products that are just going to sit on a shelf, unused, for most of the time.

Dr. Bronnner's soap comes in several different versions. There's peppermint, lavender, almond, tea tree and eucalyptus as well as a couple others I can't think of, right now. Just be sure to get the "Baby Mild" version. It doesn't have any scent, at all.

Out of the lot of them, "Baby Mild" is the only one I would use on my cats.

You can find Dr. Bronner's soap at the grocery store. (Our local store sells it, anyhow.) We also find it al Walmart, on occasion, as well. If you can't find it at your local store, you can get it from the company's website:
