A feral mama and 5 kittens around 6 weeks old were trapped. Mama had surgery 2 days ago and the rescue org instructed not to keep kittens with mama as they are being socialized and have adoptees waiting. They bsaid kittens will become more feral. They are on different floors of home in their own crates/cage. I would like the kittens to be reunited with mama. What do you recommend? Thanks.

Depends on how mom reacts to humans. If Mom is fearful and hisses at humans, kittens will learn fear and hissing at humans. If Mom is tolerant of humans, kittens will also learn to be tolerant of humans and maybe more friendly. If Mom is friendly, kittens will learn to be friendly.

Also a consideration is that some Moms once separated from their kittens aren't accepting of being reunited. Others really want to reunite.

It really comes down to Mom and her behavior.

Thanks. One kitten seems socialized already, being held and cuddled and is loving it. The runt of litter was put in crate with mama who is feeding and grooming it. I am going to the home where all this is taking place tomorrow and assist with reintroducing the other kittens to mama to see how it goes in addition to continuing the socialization process.
