That is exactly how my cats reacted to frontline this last time too which is actually what brought me to you guys the goddesses of the cat world! Because he was so small and it made him sick :(.

@Trysh Glad that you decided to come here then! It's always good to pack yourself with as much info before making a decision, especially if it's for an animal who relies on you. That's the first time I've heard of Wondercide. Hopefully another more knowledgeable member steps forward.

We've been using Advecta II (due to ingredients same as Advantage II, and considerably lower price). Started with Advecta II for cats and now use Advecta II for dogs.
For dogs has the same ingredients, can be purchased in bigger volume, price is less, and dosage by weight is easy to determine....for multiple cats.
It just doesn't make sense to me how something safe for a 4lb cat, will work just as effectively on a 10lb cat. And since I have a 25lb cat, I'd go broke buying Advantage II...lol
Anyway, it works fine for us, 5 cats, flea free, no bad reactions.
And I use one tube of large dog, split up according to weight, for all five cats.
    That's $7.00 a month for five cats.

Be cautious using products meant for dogs on cats. I know a woman who runs a cat rescue that had done that for years with the Advecta with no issues but this season it made almost half of the cats sick and many of them sadly passed on.

Also, nothing knocking Revolution, I used it with four of my cats with great success. Loved it because it also treated ear mites. However, the next three cats became violently ill with it. Frontline doesn't seem to be cutting it at my house though so I guess we're going to try the Advantage II and see how that does.

I tried the advantage 2 and I have 4 cats total it worked well they didn't seem to have any reactions to it thank goodness! And they all stopped itching and when I combed thru them no live fleas at all.

I've always use the Advantage line of products and we have always been FLEA FREE !!. I have been using Advantage II, until I discovered Cat MD line. Its the same exact product as Advantage II and MUCH cheaper.

Well all nine got the advantage II today. A couple of my more limber felines did manage to lick a bit and did some drooling but only for a short time and are fine now. They all seem fine except for my fluffy beast. He is panting heavily. So I washed off the application, combed him and brushed him (which he loves, thought it might calm him if it was stress). Other than the panting he seems fine. I am concerned but not crazy concerned just yet. He does pant from stress and excessive heat so it could just be that. Now I have to wait for the puppy to be able to get his dose next week. I did do the vacuum, spray the house & yard part (natural based product), washed bedding etc. I will redo all that next week after puppy gets his treatment as well.

As for effectiveness, the other 8 are not scratching anymore and seem calmer and settled. The fleas were really bothering them. Some quick flea combing (they do not like it at all so you don't get to do a very good comb), did not produce any live fleas so keeping my fingers crossed this will end our flea fight with victory.

I used Nature Made flea control on the house. Admittedly it was a cursory clean. I will do a more thorough clean next week when I treat the puppy. I also do not have any carpet. All hardwood floors.

We have been buying up hardwood flooring and storing it so we can do this too. I am so sick of carpets. Right now we have stripped half the flooring in the house down to OSB which is hard to clean but still not as bad as carpet.

If I was installing new flooring: I would sprinkle DE all over the subfloor (osb) and then sweep, making sure a DE dusty broom gets into corners and against the walls.
Sweep up all you can and then proceed with the vapor barrier, or flooring.
It may not help, but, it sure won't hurt.

The vet had seen the pup and asked what I used and when. He said it was alright to go ahead with the advantage ii on the pup. All the animals appear to be flea free now. Yay!
Working today but tomorrow we conquer the house!
