The Humane Society I volunteer at got in a pregnant feral late this past winter, she was terrified of people but she was a very good mom and would run to her Kittens the instant any of them started crying. She was in the "mom room", which is where pregnant Cats go so they can give birth in an enclosed space, until her Kittens were old enough to start running and playing. After that she was moved into the Kitten room in the main area so they would have more space. She was still terrified of people but as long as you didn't get close she wouldn't run and hide. It's always been hard to get good pictures of her though, when she sees people she stops what she's doing and gets very low to the ground, the exception being if she was nursing then she would just stare at you so pretty much all you're going to see is her hiding or nursing. This is her with her own babies minus one, and one of Magnolia's.

Eventually we got another mom (Magnolia) with Kittens and put her in the room next to that one. The Kittens were similar age so we wanted them to be able to play together but the new mom was very aggressive toward the other Cats, including Rose's Kittens, so we had to put her in another room while the Kittens had playtime. Rose started nursing Magnolia's Kittens too even though she had her own.

Fast forward a month or so and Magnolia's Kittens and most of Rose's were adopted out, then we got in a litter of Kittens that someone had left in a cardboard box next to a dumpster. Rose immediately took them in and started nursing them too. Yes, I know it looks like the same Kittens but this is the abandoned litter. I thought it was funny that they looked so much like her own.

She's still wary of people but now she will at least sniff our hands and not run the instant she sees one of us. It probably helped that she watched us socialize the Kittens and saw that we weren't hurting them. She still flattens out when we are around though.

Thanks so much for the pics of Rose and all her kittens as well as the pics that accompany them. Rose is more than a super mom, she's Cat Mom of the Year! :heartshape:

This week we got in another litter of 3 abandoned Kittens and she's still not complaining. She's getting spayed next week though, so there's that.
