I've always wanted a lizard of some sort.. and now that I have my own place, I spent weeks researching.

Decided on a Crested Gecko as the best reptile for me. So, here's Sandy!

I have his tank in my bookshelf, and adding live plants to camoflauge him. I hope my cats don't realize he's there! Got a tight fitting lid too
He's sweet. At least you can hold him. You can't pet your fish.

Oh wow, It will be interesting to see just how long it takes Monet & Cassie to notice him.

.....A new station on the kitty t.v.

Monet noticed the tank but I don't think he realizes there's a gecko in there! The sounds of the crickets are driving him nuts though, lol.

Cassie doesn't have much of a prey drive so I am not worried about her.

Few more photos of Sandy- enjoying his new branch

What a cutie!  We have geckos all over the house, but nothing like Sandy..  How do you like the feel of his sucky little feet?

Does he stick to the side of his tank with his little sucky feet?

Sad day.. I came home to find Sandy dead. PetCo thinks he might've been sick all along since he wasn't very active and did not eat much in the past week.. RIP Sandy..

In other news, I "traded" in since Sandy was still under guarantee. He's mostly grey with dalmatian spots and is very energized compared to Sandy, and fatter too!

I am still thinking of names.. but so far I am thinking Petri.

Now he's very sweet. I like his colour. He reminds me of leather, if you see what I mean. How about chamois.

Petrie (pee-tree) like the dinosaur from Land Before Time. Cute cartoon movie!

He does look like leather! His morph is called buckskin with Dalmatian pattern

I guess sometimes we just get unlucky with smaller critters. I'm sorry to hear about your rats!

Petrie is quite the clown. He's so much more active than Sandy!

He's happily eating his dinner.. very acrobatic!

And here he is curled up in the corner of the tank, hidden under the substrate with his tail wrapped around his body. Sound asleep. So cute!

Never saw that film. What's a morph?

What is he eating and what is his diet?

This is Petrie from Land Before Time. He's a very nervous character.. my gecko isn't nervous, but I liked the name the same!

a morph is color and patterns.. like a cat's color (Calico, tortie, so on)

He's eating a crested gecko diet made of fruit.. almost like baby food. easy to mix up- I have 5 different flavors for him (Watermelon, Papyaya, Banana, Mango.. I forget the other). I plan on giving him crickets with calcium every few weeks for a change of taste.
