We just adopted a kitten from a rescue and sadly it has ringworm. We have cleaned and vaccummed and have him started on baths with the medicated shampoo, oral antifungal and topical clotrimazole. I just have a few questions. How often do you completely change out the litter in box? Is the dip better than the shampoo? He is quarantined with our other cat a 4.5 year old as they were already together when we found out he had it so it seemed a moot point to separate them. He is only 3.5 months old and cries without his buddy.

Hi and welcome to TCS. I am sorry no one has responded to your post yet. I am kind of surprised as I see posts about ringworm on this site quite frequently. I have no experience with ringworm, but I do know based on all the posts that it seems to vary quite a bit from case to case. I don't know how much any of the linked information below will help, but at least it is something for you to look through while you wait to hear directly from others. The latter link is to previous posts from members who have dealt with ringworm.

There is a product on Chewy that does contain triclosan , but it specifically states NOT for use with dogs and cats. Pretty much any fungicidal cleaner should work for surfaces, even 409. Same with laundry as long as it says fungicidal or something similar.
