Although not a common ingredient in cat food I thought I would mention FDA recommendations for people eating rice. Arsenic levels are lowest in white rice from California and India where it is grown differently. FDA recommends people only eat 1/4 cup of these sources of white rice only four times a week. I think I would avoid it in cat food. There is a risk for arsenic poisoning.

I've heard of this recently too. As someone who eats rice several times a week, it's concerning. But so is the air quality, plastics, forever chemicals, pesticides, etc. etc. etc. The list could go on on ways we've made the earth toxic. There's a reason humans and pets all have cancer and food sensitivities and such. So... I try to live as healthy as I can and try not to hurt myself worrying.
