Krista preparing to summit the nightstand for a water glass raid. (Or I left a lunch plate up there.)

“Come up here and say that to my face”, I would say. And also, “ground kitties don’t get fed. Only tree kitties get food around here.”

“If you insist…“ 😻

Elvis uses my left wrist for a chin rest when I'm (trying to) work(ing). You just don't want to move when you've got a cat on your hand!:zzzcat:
Elvis occasionally cupboard cruises, too, but he gets escorted back to ground kitty-land. :angrycat:

I’m done with discouraging counter surfing. It’s easier to wipe them down and keep them clean than to train a cat not to be a cat. But I guess it’s also easier to have that attitude myself versus imposing it on roommates. NC will probably eat her meals on the kitchen counter. I’m just not sure where else to feed her without having a carpet mess like Lil Miss Solo Food Fight. 😹 Maybe on top of the cat bench?

I finally fixed the centering on that painting hang job. It was well-placed when this room was a dining room. But I didn’t fix the placement when it became a cat room. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Until this week. 👍 I used to have Krista’s fountain up there. But I may just keep a glass on the kitty nightstand. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Then again. I also plan to use timed feeders, if needed. (How often do you feed a wet-only cat who does not have GI lymphoma or taking steroids?). And buffet lines would be easier as a carpet affair.

So I have some preparation and decisions to make. But I am getting the itch for a new cat. 🐈 It may be weeks or months. But it’s going to happen this year. 😻👍

Well, I got these nice-looking semi-clear plastic trays from IKEA for my own dinner trays and theirs. Easy to clean, and spills can go right back in the bowls since they are clean. IDK what we'd do without them. You can get as many as you need for next to nothing, and they last forever, and look nice, and go with any decor/color scheme/style. Perfect for someone like me--or you, I'm thinking?
I like to feed three times a day, but as they're 17 and 14 and don't seem to want to eat as much, it's more like twice, with breakfast becoming brunch and dinner being midnight snacks if they want. I also have the Blue Buffalo mature cat dry free-fed -- 3 bowls in breakfast room, back hallway, and master bedroom. Elvis ate nothing but BB adult dry before he joined us, and he eats dry when the wet is not to his liking. He loves the fountain and I see him visiting it at least a couple times a day, so he's getting his nutrients and moisture. They get around 10-20 Feline Greenies last thing before bed every night, too. I get the chicken dental treats, salmon skin & fur treats, and tuna furball treats, and alternate them. I'd like for them to eat 3 5.5 oz. cans per day, between the two of them, but I'm lucky if they finish 2, plus dry. Elvis is a tiny bit chunky; Baby Su is a little more lean than I'd like, but she's 17 so she's lost muscle mass. She has the better appetite for wet, and also grazes the dry.
Hardly any of my cats have ever expressed interest in cupboard jumping! IDK why. Maybe because they have so many cat trees/activity centers/cat pipes/condos? IDK. You have a nice array of climbing pieces, too, so you may not have cupboard jumping in your future but it's great that you'll be tolerant if you do. My cats have always been able to go anywhere they want as long as it isn't a potential danger (stove, fireplace). The fireplace has a glass protector, and the stove has safety knobs, so we're good.
Since my two like to eat in the master bedroom, there is a bowl of fresh water in there.

CATFLIGHT 001 cleared to land! :hearthrob: :kneading: :hearthrob: 🛬
Cat Force One will have to maintain a hovering pattern for at least another day or two. I did yet one more Bissell Deep Clean of ground zero pee area in the front room. And that takes a day or two to dry. In the meantime, I have quite the shopping and task list to get through. But I’m getting the home ready. I may be bringing home a new one as early as this week. 🤞

Oh my! I’ve been kind of following this thread on the side as that lil kitty’s such a charmer, and you obviously loved her. This must be a very big step.

Very nervous. I did my best to get Krista’s pee out of the carpet. But I can still sometimes smell it when I get down on the floor to do push-ups. Im also nervous about my former cat allergies. I wonder if they came back since I haven’t been exposed to a cat in a year and a half? 🧐🤔

Oops! Forgot the Feliway! Carpet isn’t dry yet so I still have tomorrow.
